  Hello!
Posted by: Nadia - 01-10-2013, 12:04 AM - Forum: INTRODUCE YOURSELF - Replies (3)

Hello there! My name is Nadia and am from The Netherlands.
and I just recently joined this community in the hope to get better in my artwork and get out of my comfort-zone! Angel

I have been drawing digitally since 2005, but started out in the Lion King fandom, which caused me to draw mainly big cats (especially many lions) and other animals for 7 years. I have quite developed a lot with animal anatomy. My biggest inspiration is Terryl Whitlatch.

But it gets slowly boring and I have a huge desire to go to a different direction and to expand my horizon a bit more. Since I really want to work as a freelance concept artist and illustrator.

Last year in 2012 I have grown a big interrest in landscape painting and have created some nice works but I want to get better. I also want to learn to draw buildings and humans. I seek feedback and so my reason to join this nice place. I hope to fullfill this new years resolution. :)

Greetings,
Nadia.

  Hey Everyone!
Posted by: Jade Fletcher - 01-09-2013, 11:19 PM - Forum: INTRODUCE YOURSELF - Replies (7)

Hi there,

My name is Jade and I’m totally new to the whole digital art scene! I mainly work in 3D with all sorts of media in my own little studio at home, but I’m a ceramicist at heart. But through the colder months in rainy England I felt like switching it up a bit and focusing on illustration and concept design (indoors) :)

So Recently I bought myself a drawing tablet as it’s always been something that has intrigued me, but really I had no clue how to use it once I got it home and out of the box! So naturally I was searching for help or tutorials on YouTube and I stumbled upon Dave Rapoza’s Knight sketch tutorial and that was it, hooked! What an inspiration!!

So that’s how I got here, I would say I definitely have a long way to go, especially with learning how to use photoshop. My spatial awareness and 3D way of thinking do seem to help somewhat, but I have a lot of good books on illustration and composition to get stuck into.

I’m looking forward to getting the chance to be inspired, gain motivation and possibly receive some critiques and feedback along the way in order to grow an improve as an artist.

Thanks, nice to meet you all x

Hello daggers,

After a few livestreams and several days of stalking I tought it was time to join in!

Had some fun on the google hangout having some fun and actually doing stuff!
Already some productivity!

Right, back to drawing, I know i'm lacking fundamentals big time.
So thats my new years resolution / deathline to actually get dem fundamentals correct.

Also will be going of ISra's classes and learning from the scott robertson at gnomon!
Insanity ensured.

Greetings from holland.

I just watched a bunch of Dave's videos and blog posts... what an inspiration!!

I'm working on a new portfolio to solicit myself as a freelance Illustrator/Designer. I have experience as a production artists for video games... but I'm switching gears a bit and going for illustration (publishing) and concept design for film and games.

I've focused mainly on oil painting this past year, teaching portrait painting and doing plein air studies. Now I'm ready to go back and apply what I've learned to entertainment design and story illustrations.

Mr. Rapoza has some great tips on freelancing. I'm looking forward to join the ranks of all you hard working and obsessed artists.

cheers!

-Paulo

Hey everyone,
First time to the forum but been watching Dave Rapozza's stuff for a bit and just noticed the forum section on Crimson Daggers. I need to get myself motivated and kick my artwork up a few notches. Will check around here to see if the deathline and monthly challenges are still up.

Thanks for reading, hope to post often somewhere on here
