So I finally joined the Crimson Daggers after lurking around here for weeks :) My name is Markus, I´m an archaeologist and IT technician by trade and I started to get serious about painting about 2 years ago. Now, I want the real deal and become better and better to maybe one day turn my passion into profession.

I just watched a bunch of Dave's videos and blog posts... what an inspiration!!

I'm working on a new portfolio to solicit myself as a freelance Illustrator/Designer. I have experience as a production artists for video games... but I'm switching gears a bit and going for illustration (publishing) and concept design for film and games.

I've focused mainly on oil painting this past year, teaching portrait painting and doing plein air studies. Now I'm ready to go back and apply what I've learned to entertainment design and story illustrations.

Mr. Rapoza has some great tips on freelancing. I'm looking forward to join the ranks of all you hard working and obsessed artists.

As part of my quest to develop from a mediocre to 'quite good' artist throughout the course of 2013, I thought it wise to join you good folks at Crimson Daggers.

Already I have enjoyed leeching from the considerable resources in this forum, hopefully in time I will be able to contribute in turn.

I have been a freelance illustrator for about a year now, mainly specializing in horror, sci-fi and fantasy book covers.

Ideally, I'd like to gear my folio towards the possibility of becoming employed as a fantasy illustrator with Wizards or Fantasy Flight Games.

My name is Plamen, I'm 26 with bachelor in illustration, like many I am not comfortable with the level of my skills, and design is a bit of a problem for me, so I am looking forward to overcoming that in a group of equally or more driven people.

Hi my name is Carlo and I'm from the philippines, I'm 17 years old and I'm currently taking up a course in Multimedia arts but I want to focus more on graphic design/fine arts. I'm probably what you call a starving artist and most of us here probably are. I started drawing seriously last year, Jan 2012 and I like to think I've improved a lot but I know I still have a long way to go. I look forward to making new friends here and to learn more about my craft. :)

I'm 25 years old, worked in small games companies as a generalist for 3 years but after a recent redundancy I'm pouring my efforts into freelancing this year.

The conceptart gathering in London has given me a milestone to aim for, and with that constant reason to improve. Not only that but to meet others, share experiences and thrive. I believe crimson daggers embodies that spirit whole heartedly. I've lurked for too long.
