Introducing myself! My name's Broadway. I'm a generalist game artist (2d/3d/ui/whatever else) that dabbles in concept art. But, after getting into some concept art streams/podcasts and seeing the hard work you crazy folks put in here, I've really started to understand the gravity of of the amount of study/practice that gets people to the level I want to reach. 

I've been doing daily studies/personal work/figure drawing/what-have-you the past month, and I decided to start a sketchbook so that if any of you awesome people feel inclined, you can come help me get the most out of my ongoing studies!

I am new to this website, and thought to introduce myself. 



Anyways, I was always interested in art and when I was a young kid, I would watch science fiction movies and ask myself how they managed to create stuff like that. I eventually figured it out and started using the web for the appropriate programs.



Now my problem is that I often feel overwhelmed by all of this. There is so much to learn. I knew it wouldn't be easy, but without the help of other people, I believe it is impossible for me to learn 3D, so I started looking for tutorials and eventually found them. I paid for a lot of tutorials, but I realised that I actually learnt nothing. I don't know. It's either me being totally stupid, or I always chose the wrong tutorials..., to me, they did not really explain the steps..., so I was like "Hey, there are plenty of books, you need to check out..., maybe that is the right way for you", so I ordered some guides and started reading.



My second problem is that whenever I read a text, I encounter some stuff that I never heard of before and so I look it up..., go back to reading the book until I encounter a term I never heard of, so I look it up..., and so it goes on and on..., time flies, of course..., and then I sit there and realise that I wasted my time reading superficially about a lot of different subjects, rather than studying one text or subject thoroughly..., and then I get frustrated and stop..., try the next day..., get frustrated again and stop.



I somehow believe it maybe has to do with the fact, that I really, really, really want to learn 3D. I really have this strong desire to learn it, but somehow fail.



Then, somebody told me that to be able to do 3D, I've to learn how to draw, so I was like "okay I will" and immediately got me a sketchbook but then I started thinking what the hell to draw and how..., so I just started drawing what I saw,  the TV,  table,  I mean anything and I realised I suck. I mean everything looked so wrong, the perspective, I mean..., it was just horrible, but that's fine..., I figured out that I need to learn perspective first and that's what I am doing at the moment and I hope things will look better one day. 



I am here to share my story and maybe make friends..., I mean yea, would be awesome, lol. 



I've been checking some sketchbooks on here and my god, y'all are awesome. So I asked myself if beginners are even allowed to be here, :P

Howdy everyone, I'm new here, and Umm, I was always bad at intro threads.
I guess a little bit about me, I'm from Tampa, FL. I'm a dude, and I'm 34 years old, and a huge nerd.
I love reading, drawing, listening to music, watching movies, playing video games, and hanging out with friends to play Pen and Paper RPGs.

That's right, you got a new user! ʸᵃᵃᵃᵃᵃʸ... Anyways, I'm a 20 years old scrub from Argentina who is trying to get a hold on drawing (and maybe writing and youtube-ing in the future) after leaving it aside several years ago. I found this site in Noah Bradley's "Don't Go to Art School" post (along with tons of didactical material about drawing to download illegally) and well, I decided to give it a shot.

       I don't have to much perseverance, and right now I'm in the middle of deciding what to do with my future (something I should have done at least 4 years ago) so don't expect me to post a LOT in the immediate future. Still, I hope I manage to get some useful critiques and meet cool people in here.

Hey all, just want to check in and say whats good or whateva!?

I've known of the Crimson Daggers for a while now (2010) back when the CD forum was live on CA.org. I used to post on there often just trying to improve while realizing how much college (FCUK AI) didn't prepare me for what was needed to be proficient in the industry. I'm not going drag this on too long but, I'm up to my neck in debt and having to take on random jobs on and off since then (starting another one tomorrow), to make ends meet has kept discouraging me to fully realize my potential for a while.

I want to change that more now than ever. Looking to get back on the saddle once again and attempt to focus harder to improve myself, dissolve my bad habits, and start getting work in the art field while being happy and enjoying it along the way. So i'm here just looking for a push in the right direction, and to join a community again being surrounded by some awesome pplz. Thanks for stopping thru. I'll be setting up my sketchbook soon.
