your construction lines are very beautiful sometimes and show rock solid structure, but i feel like on your faces you cop out with these anime kinda faces, like i see very little structure and it feels like symbol drawing. Id like to see if you can handle drawing a more realistic face at least for a little while, it will end up pushing the quality of the anime faces. As they say habit die hard i guess you pick up that face symbolism when you started drawing.The duty of people on this forum is to tell you what you might not be aware of and i think fedo is on something here.I think what really bug me is the way those eye doesn't show actually plane.They rest flat on the face as if there were sticker.You can play with proportion but there away to exaggerate learn the feature relation and proportion first.

i see, thank you guys! I will try my very best to tackle this issue.

edit: i'll have to admit though, my eyes are playing tricks on me... i don't really see it as clearly as you guys, even with dark's edit. pretty disappointed that i practice construction and still manage to screw these things up. i probbably need like a full construction drawover or something to understand what you guys mean.

i mean you can draw heads however you want, i just think that your bodies are very realistic and anatomically correct, so the anime heads look out of place on the body. For instance, a steven silver head on a realistic body looks strange, and a cartoony body on a realistic head looks strange. If you want to do the anime heads, you'll have to accomodate the rest of the figure and heavily stylize it to fit that head style.

The artist i link shows form of the head, how eyes fit in the socket, the forms of the nose, etc. but still has an anime style to it. Like this looks anime, but still shows plane changes

If you were to practice drawing even invented imagination heads that are realistic you'd notice a lot of things coming back to an anime style

rib cages. working on a simplified skeleton + sculpting it to understand and visualize the forms better. one area at a time.

also, I've been keeping up with daily line and ellipses exercises as a warm up routine. I gotta say, i'm feeling a bit better about line quality. there's no reason for me not to do it :p

anyway: not a big post, but some of the better ones, i suppose

I think in term of thing you didn't seem to have touch in term of construction would be the construction of the foot it in my opinion it one of the least important aspect of a character since most character wear shoe but if your not gonna work on the construction of the foot maybe you could atleast try to draw foot wear atleast to be able to have a complete figure.Maybe you could work on dressing those figure and start to figure out how to make cloth hang from a figure and how to draw fold and design cloth.

One of the other study i suggest would be to do some gesture to get rid of those stiff construction try to make the figure feel more organic and dynamic.Also try avoid making all the contruction but actually trying to visualize them instead of putting them down.Like straight out from imagination.Alternating between construction and straight from imagination.

I think if i was your teacher i would give you the green light to start experimenting with the figure in value.Try to show that you understand where the light come from and keep light consistent across the figure.
Just an idea of direction you could take if it seem realistic.

If you can draw a pelvis there little to nothing you can't construct in my opinion the rest is just a matter of being able to play with layers.Using merge to keep the count of layers relatively low or using group to keep it relatively compact this allow you be more flexible it also use for quick erasing construction line.But you probably already use those thing by now.Just add a bit of ellipse done digital as a warm up to get those confident line and ellipse.I would also encourage you to play with lineweight to indication a sense of perspective overlapping of thick vs thin line depending if it goes away or come at us.

Im diggin the proko, only thing jumpin out at me are sometimes you draw the ridge muscles like the extensor carpi radialus longus and the brachioradiallus small in the position where the arm is bunched up at like a 90 degree angle

Same with the legs, the proportions are weird, remember its 1 to 1 for calf to thigh, and the butt is like a half almost. The sartorius also isnt a straight shot from the ASIS to the tibeal tuberosity, it kind of wraps in a more S like shape

And still i aint fukin witchu on them heads man, you gotta learn anatomy and skull structure, these little anime heads are fun, but look cheap on such well drawn bodies. You can draw stylized faces i think can be justified on such nice bodies, its just youre not showing any form on the ones youre drawing right now. again, my homie Jpeg96 on deviantart is a perfect example of how its done

Ahaha, kidding kidding. I get'cha bro, I'm definitely going to keep working on the proportions. I need to do a shit ton of head studies sometime soon. I know how you feel about my heads :P I will someday make that form come out on those anime heads!!

dont be scared to use a deep shadow to indicate like the contour transition of a shadow from the light; it may not look like that in real life but it gets you thinking about edges in a new way and it looks cool:

as youre drawing still lives, try to lose more and more lines until you can get an image with just edge and tone, you can learn a whole lot about control doing these
