Sula's Sketchbook
Wonderful work. I really love post Post 1298. The cold/blue skintones are fantastic.

@Dennis: thanks :D I have been experimenting a bit more of this textural feeling. I'm starting to like it, but it is still a fine life between sketchy and painterly...
@Construction: <3 thanks

love the smoothness of your paintings and that sort of grainy texture they have on. Is it just a brush the you use at the end?

@valve: yes it is! I find that use textured brushes the whole process leaves me with a texture monster - and the way I have been working around that is adding texture in selective places after the image is rendered :)

@Fedodika: aaaaaaaaah <3 I'm in love haha I just binged the x-files, I love her <3

Here is today's study
The images I was working on where previewed, I'll post when I have the chance!

Ooo Scully <3 and RIP sir Nimoy :( Lovely portraits Sula! Where'd the inspiration for the low contrast style come from? It gives it a really ethereal feel.

Great high key portraits Sula. :) I think this is like the first or second time I've visited your SB. Sorry, I can't go through 66 pages worth!!! I'm sure they are awesome. :P Keep it up!

@Pnate: thanks man! It's actually me fighting back my urge to indulge in darker tones. Nothing wipes bad habits away as throwing the culprits completely away hehe. I hope to become more versed into higher keys, and to be able to apply them accordingly from here on.

Bluebear, Pindursky, Ernanda, Veneq, Amitt: thank you so much <3

Here:
I did this master study back in 2013, it was a train wreck. Feels good redoing it and getting it closer to how it should be. Also proud about not having to use any digital trickery or layer modes to get it going hehe.
(here is the terrible 1st attempt: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1614...tudy02.jpg )

I also just added a way harder than expected brush to toolset.
