It's a somewhat solitary existence, a bit like a lighthouse keeper throwing a beam out into the darkness, in faith that this action might help someone unseen.  My Sketchbook (critique welcome)

		Draw it on a single layer next time, also perhaps add another level or two of value. I think you are going to a strong stylized portrait. Try drawing him just as is (all levels of value) as a study, then do a stylized version that only emphasizes the main chunks of value you are wanting.
