aCrab's Photoshop Journey
#1
Hey everyone,

About 5 years ago I decided I wanted to do art. It's taken me a while to realize how much work this is and to develop the discipline in myself and over the course of that time I've slowly come to learn exactly what "seriously" means and tried to readjust my definition accordingly.

I've finally decided I need to learn photoshop and this sketchbook is hopefully going to chart that journey. I've been putting it off for far too long, time to get down to business.

Here's a little bit of what I've done so far.

New stuff for today. Wasn't able to finish all the silhouettes as my eyes are starting to bother me. Otherwise was a pretty productive day!

More arms, many more arms. Was focusing on the wrist today. Trying to completely learn the thing before jumping on to something else. I'm honestly hoping I never have to reference the brachioradialis again.

More Silhouettes! These are really fun, would never have drawn anything even close to these straight out of my head. Kinda a fun exercise.

More arms, working my way into the shoulder. Things are starting to make sense (I think). Working on rendering technique working from photos, some things are starting to click.

Really liking the form rendering on these anatomy studies, those arms up there are looking pretty good. Great to see the muscle and bone breakdowns too - learning the anatomy inside out like that will really pay off in terms of imaginative drawing in the long run, especially if you keep drawing characters as you practise.

It looks like you are getting a better grasp of blocking out judging by the more recent photostudy too, so keep it up - keep thinking about getting down those big value areas and steadily breaking them down.
