Hand/Arm Anatomy: One Month Goal! (Completed!)
#1
With help from Amit Dutta, I've managed to specify my goals in a hopefully reasonable and realistic way, according to the fact that I have a lot of time on my hands, haha.

So:

Since 8 is my lucky number, I'm gonna go with 88 hand/arm anatomy/general studies with 88 hand/arm application/imagination pieces in one month!

And if I reach this goal before September 20th, I will try for 100.  Woot. Thumbs_up

Awesome! This is a totally manageable goal, your arms will be super boss in a month.

Proko has some great videos on the arm/shoulder area:

There's also a great Michael Hampton book on figure drawing which you can find as a PDF online.

Good luck! Can't wait to see how much you improve!

So, I almost forgot to post here, 'cause I've been posting my progress in my sketchbook.  I'm already almost finished my goal, and will probably offshoot 100 as well, so I'm thinking..  I'll just keep drawing hand/arm studies until the 20th, maybe set mini goals until then?  I dunno, any thoughts on that?

Then I'll probably move onto torsos.

Anyway, here's my progress so far!

71/88 (reference)
51/88 (memory/imagination)

Finished!

That was awesome.

I procrastinated a couple of weeks, but I'm still done before the 20th of September.  5 minutes before.  Haha.

I can honestly say that this was a really great experience.

I'm not a master of hands and arms, but I can happily say that I'm much better with them, and I have a better idea of how they sit in space.

I'm now going to make some perspective goals.
