A loose still life I did a few days ago, I'm going to do a more detailed one soon, and a nude study on charcoal, I always wanted to try it and I'm having a lot of fun!

Meh, weekend's over.

Hi wla91. Nice sketchbook. Those charcoal studies in particular stand out; there's a really nice fluidity to them. Keep at it.

when sketching, try to work more on how you are going to construct the figure rather than drawing what you see. I noticed that you already have started to work on that, so push the construction a bit further. And keep working! :)

Thank you man! It's funny that you mention that because in my last studies I was feeling like I wasn't absorbing as much as I wanted, I realized it was because of the construction, so thanks for pointing that! I will apply some Loomis and Bridgman to my next studies :)

Here are some selfies from today, keeping them loose with a 0.8 liner, trying to observe myself and get the proportions and likeness right! And also a digital one :)

Hey guys, I'm finally on vacations... Until September 2nd :|.

Anyways, here is some stuff I've done, I have also been reading Loomis and Bridgman and trying to observe and apply what I've read rather than just copying everything.

Lots of great practice--I really like the colors in that cup/headphone study. They have that "nicer than a photograph cause maybe they've been painted from life" look.
