Pushin' though hard times.
Sorry everyone. I'm trying to get used to a lot of new stuff that's happening. I'm also very tired.

For those who are interested I'm basically at a university right now... learning a lot of technical stuff. It was that or working a full time job. It's a special education program so I don't have to pay to much and get some social securities which I am in great need of right now. The lessons are all very technical stuff... and math... and zzz.
I kinda have to split my day into learning all this technical crap and art. Sometimes it gets a bit to much. I'm trying to use breaks and stuff to draw, so this sketchbook may or may not be filled with weird ballpoint pen sketching that I do while hiding in some corner of the university.

People are nice though. It's just weird being that person that wants to be an artist while everyone around me is becoming a high end engineer.
Time management is key and I still don't have quite the grasp on it :/

I hope y'all doing fine. Lend me your strenght in these stressful times haha. Nah I know lot's of you work full time jobs and may have families and stuff.
Let's try to keep our sanity together!

Here is the first finished line art piece for my challenge which I'm still going to complete regardless of whatever.

post #304 came out quite detailed, well done on it. How many hours did something like this take you?

Ohhhhh... a long long time, I tell you. Especially since my day is split between work/art and also because line art isn't my speciality. I think I only did finished line art a few times and then it was usually one character or so. That's why I'm more struggling my way through this than actually know what I'm doing, which takes up time since you always have to correct your mistakes.

I hope I can get more comfortable with line drawing through doing these, eventhough line drawing isn't essential to painting, I find a very useful tool for the work I want to create haha.

So maybe 30 hours? I can only guess here.

Terrible photos ahead!

Hello everyone. I scaned some stuff but I noticed that I only had very little to scan :( I did some longer studies the past weeks so sometimes a study takes up the whole week because I have so little time :((

Anyway. University.... is a thing. I'll try sketching during breaks but I also need to eat and get to the other side of the campus to find my room. I guess I could sketch on the train? Math slowely heads down to the horrible lane I think? We'll see how it goes. Also exams are coming up. You might think: right now? It's not even the end of the semester?? Well some professors were like "We'll split the exams in two parts" Which is kinda good so you don't have to learn the stuff from the whole semester at once. I'm still kind of worried though... haven't written an exam in ages :(

Let's keep on going.
Here's a master study and some fan art stuff.

good master study!
Also the last illustration has some conflicting elements. The bright colored characters are in a too dull environment. They really seem out of place.

Yeah I kinda messed that up. I was trying to get more atmospheric perspective into the picture but smudged and desaturated to picture somewhat. I have to really learn how that works. Thanks for the crit :)

Some studies and a ballpoint pen sketch I did during breaktime.

Your drawing style is dope, Zip! I love the way your style is evolving and your use of fundamental shapes/geometry.

The flowing/surreal piece is really cool too.

I think this one's my favorite so far: http://crimsondaggers.com/forum/attachme...?aid=92492

Keep it up, good sir! Just hammer away at the fundamentals and your stuff will begin to elevate. I feel you're already on a pretty good track.

Thanks for the comment! I'll bash those fundamentals in to head as best as I can haha.
