If you cannot pronounce, yet even spell my username, you can all just call me Mirre.

This is gonna be my own sketchbook thread. I'm open for feedback and critique on the WIPs I post here.
I usually post on my Tumblr Artblog for you who are interested.

So this is my current WIP, I got really inspired and had a very fun time working on this.
But I'm suddenly stuck with something that happens to me very often, which is the pose.

Here's three different kinds of positions of the dragon's body, I don't know which one to choose. I sort of wanna show a lot of the dragons body, but I don't want to make the image look too "busy" sort of. So if any of you could provide some feedback on this one, please do, because I hate when I get stuck like this. because it often makes me end up never finishing the piece.



Personally, I'm starting to like the one to the left the most. It feels more natural compared to the other ones. But your opinions and feedback is highly appreciated.

I go for the first one too, the second makes a circle and the third is a bit confusing :)

These are more or less my very first attempts at mechanics/robot thumbnails. This is something completely outside my comfort zone, so I'm very happy that I finally managed to make these. Was following some videos on youtube by Sinixdesign, which was a really good motivator. Although I first more or less imitated his designs, I started to make up my own stuff as I progressed. "Monkey see, monkey do."

And here's two small studies I did some days ago. Was focusing mostly on creating a atmosphere and not getting too distracted with perspective. Environments is something that is outside my comfort zone, so these studies were challenging, but at the same time not too hard to make me give up halfway.

Buildings from Gamla Stan in Stockholm (except the third one)

Never really finished any of these. But I really feel it was worth spending time on these, even though they are just cubes.

After drawing the first one, I realized that I wouldn’t be able to finish all the windows and details in one go. So I started with a more closeup drawing of one building instead.

When I realized the hgngngngngngrenaissance DETAILS on the roof and decided to end the night with a improsived drawing.

The last one turned out pretty okay, I can imagine finishing these next time and probably use them as backgrounds for future paintings. I think that I got a bit more confident in drawing with perspective grids after the first two, so the third one didn’t feel so challenging as I feared it would.

And here's another environment practice. I think that I've expanded my safety-zone, because I don't feel as uncomfortable with drawing environments as I used to. Which is only a good sign, yes? :D

Okay guys I'm a bit stuck with this wip. I don't like how it's turning out, but I don't know if I should approach to a more cartoony/stylized approach, or for a more realistic one. Also, I forgot to turn on color proofing mode when I started working on this, so it turned out too saturated and contrasted. Although I'm not sure if I should change it back or not.
And I need to resize the cat.

This painting is meant to be more of a illustration.

Did a looot of anatomy studies today! Did a simple study to easier understand the complex structure of the elbow. And some hogarth studies!
I also gave some small advice to the viewers in the livestream. Just so you are prepared for obvious "tips".
