The grey tone and the sad expression and is physical unappealing appearance hit harder then a monday morning . I mean it in a positive way.
The color choose is brilliant again if deliberate.

You have a very interesting approach. Like every face is stylistically different. Maybe you lack a bit of technical skill but that is just a matter of practice and time invested.
