Hello everyone, after several months of lurking and procrastinating, I finally decided to sign up to the forum (was about time).
I'm a 25 years-old guy from a little Italian town. I've always been passionated about drawing but never really got into it (because whatever — I'm stupid). Some of the artists I admire most have passed through this forum, and that makes me hopeful and excited.
So, here I am, going to do my best to hone my skills and give back to the community.
I'm Davide from Rome, Italy and i am very excited to be here. Hello! <3
I'm looking forward to make friends and doing a lot of art stuff.
I like art in general, but i'm pretty oriented towards digital!
Actually don't know what else to say, first time on a forum haha
What did you last eat?
Hi, my name is Zak! I feel like I've awakened, and joined this forum to STAY AWAKE! (Because let me tell ya, the coffee only works for so long..) Really looking forward to being a part of the community on Crimson Daggers.
All about me, me, me:
I'm almost twenty years old, been lurking on CD for a week, and am half way through a two year program for "animation & game art" at a community college. I'm pursuing a career in feature animation (most interested in animating, storyboarding, and character designing aspects), and joined because I realized the need to get "serious serious" in order to make this dream happen, hopefully reaching a professional level in five years or so. I can't live in my parents basement forever, so this will certainly be quite a journey.
The biggest goal for me currently is to learn 2D drawing and animating fundamentals, applying those skills through short projects, and learning to study reference (and internalizing it through application).
I have been working through the classic Preston Blair animation book and copying cartoons to learn basic cartoon construction and character design. I have a subscription to NMA, and am slowly working through the basic courses on there to learn anatomy. However, here are some imagined sketches I drew before bed tonight.. I have never voluntarily showed my sketches to anyone, as you can see why (really embarrassing to draw something this bad and to show it). I've fooled myself into constantly copying without doing any real learning, and it feels bad.
I promise to dedicate myself to work hard, study hard, and to learn with and from the CA community! The discipline, awesome work, and accountability amongst artists here is beyond inspiring!
Here is some unnecessary backstory about me, summed up in a few bullet points. 1. Didn't spend time thinking about drawing until 16yrs old (thanks, video games!), and did occasional drawing prior to that age. I slowly began to learn drawing at that point. 2. At the ripe old age of 19, became stuck wallowing in too much self doubt and the unhealthy, irrational fear that it's 'too late" for me to start a journey towards a career in animation (Was obsessed with trying to find successful artists who got a "late start" so that I did't feel alone on this path).
Dinner
Organic tortilla made with 2 eggs, chopped mushrooms, 3 tablespoons grated low-fat cheese. Steamed vegetables.
A small banana.
Some strawberries.
Seventh day - be good to your digestive system
Lose weight in 7 days apple with lemon juice
On the last day of your diet, focus on helping your digestive system. Poor digestion deprives the body of essential nutrients needed for metabolism and weight loss.
First, chewing each bite slowly, covering your food with saliva to start the digestion process. Eaten in moderation, at regular times, taking your time, and see what you eat when you are very tired (mentally or physically).

I'm VeronicaRadd, I'm a 24 year old artist from southern Ontario. I've been a self taught artist for the past 10 years of my life. I really love working with acrylic paints and canvas, but for the past few months I've been doing digital painting to push my limits and gain more technical skill. I'm inspired by outer space, beautiful confident women and lots of vibrant colors!
This is my first time posting, I would love any feedback or comments! I posted my most recent piece as well.

Hi!
This is my second attempt at writing an introduction post, because I screwed up by accidently refreshing the page
So I´m currently 17 years old and I will graduate next year in Germany.
After that I plan to go to the UK for an Art and Design Foundation Diploma.(If anyone completed this kind of course I would love to hear about their experience!)
With that I will (hopfeully) figure out what kind of career in the arts I want (or don´t want) to pursue, since I can´t decide if I want to go for an Illustration, Industrial Design, Fine Art or Animation Degree.
I´ve also thought about becoming a concept artist (just like all the other cool kids :D), but I don´t know if I will be able to pull that off.
My current goal is finishing my portfolio until spring so I can apply for university. This is going to be fun and painful at the same time because I don´t have more than one or two finished pieces that live up to my own expectations!
I hope we can help each other and become friends!
Bye
