A 2hour study of rocks - going to texture too early - should have worked more on the forms

hey wolkenfels ! I think you should better think about the planes and light source of your subject ! something is wrong concerning values ! also if you study from photo, don't copy the values, most of the time they suck and they're wrong and you won't learn the real thing : volume and light ! Really understand structure and you'll improve a lot ! keep it up !

@Kikindaface thanks. yeah - i know - i have sooo much to learn. of course for the 30 minute spitpaints i have not much time and I am happy if i get my idea down at all. Maybe i should take some of the concepts and work a bit longer on it.

Illustration for a story of a friend of mine. (she is a witch who just tormented some poor ppl - thats is why her hand is bloody -and she shed her bloody cloth)

I am quite pleased with it. In a few hours i will see the errors but for the moment i take the luxury o self satisfaction. ;)

I really like to see the mix of ref painting and imagination.

Gwyneth 2 looks very solid. Alien queen iridescence is really pretty. Love to see you use that effect again.

Carnival of the dead is an interesting "live and die in character" concept. brings back memories of a biker funeral procession that passed me on the freeway once. All the brother bikers in their leather jackets, on motorcycles, following the hearse.

Picture of a fatherly friend of mine. I can safely say my life wouldn't look even a bit like it is without him.
We both share our love for fantasy and fantasy pen and paper role playing games and the imaginary world of Magira. This is his character Sor the mighty magician.

Took a reference picture made by Annemarie Holy and changed mood and lighting completely.
A big "Thank you!" shout to all who supplied critiques. Foremost Monkeybread and my patient wife!
Thanks to all the Crimson Dagger crowd and to Suzanne-Helmigh <3 without your portrait workshop on Crimson Dagger i would not have been able to paint this.

Dear friends,

i wish all of you a Merry Christmas. Hopefully you can spend some time with your loved ones and relax a bit.
It was a fun year and i met a lot of new friends in the livestreams, at crimson daggers or here on Facebook and i finally met some fellow artists in real life. It was wonderful!
Thanks to all of you for being helpful, for being creative and motivating and for having humor and sharing all of it.
I wish all of you happiness and health!

If 2013 was an outlook to next year it will be amazing.
