(still getting use to the working of the site.... confused!

Some light intro to programming humor.

Anyway, I'm AyaneMatrix and I am switching from a lurker to more of member of this site. I was also recommended to visit here by one of my classmates, but it really took me forever to do so.

As such, I do have some training in the arts, but I believe much of my current problem is not having confidence in my work. It's an awkward thing to say when you're in art school and have about a year left to go, but my confidence level dropped considerably over the last few months and it has noticeably affected my artwork. So, I've been bouncing around trying to get my mojo back, so to speak.

So I decided to join this forum after hearing so much positive feedback about it! I'm hoping I will be able to improve with by joining.
I have been drawing for most of my life, but I have never really bothered to take it seriously. I want to work on my realism, and many other things, considering I want to go into an art related career. I'm still pretty young, so I have yet to decide what I want to do. I also feel like I want to re-learn how to see things. I have learned so much over the years, but I've always had problems applying them.
Also, I guess I should say that I have been greatly influenced by anime. However, I really want to work on my realism! I also want to learn more about design because I will most likely get into a design related career. I hope to learn a lot through this forum!

Here are some things I want to improve with (that I can think of at the moment):

Hey people! Glad to finally find myself here and thank you for having me! I've been searching for a sweet place to hang around and do art with other passionate ladies and gentlemen :)

I used to hang with the Daggers back in 2010 when Dave just started streaming. It was damn inspiring and some really good times. To see it all grow into this is amazing. I've really been gone for far too long.

Some of you might know me from ConceptArt.org as DefiledVisions. These past 2 years haven't been so good for me. I've been mentally ill and working through some heavy life-issues. However things are getting better and I really want to join in and have fun with art again!

For now I've just been stalk.. *cough* I mean looking at the forums for some time, but I decided to register and say hi :) I've been dropping some comments in some sketchbooks and I hope to do so more! I feel this place brims with the creativity and spirit I've been missing for a long time and I hope to suck it all up, get back on my feet and start contributing to that too.

I'm looking forward to sharing experiences about all things related to art and life in general. I love a good discussion, whether it be the about something deep and spiritual, or just simply why milkchocolate with almonds is so daaaamn tasty. (It is, I dare you to say anything else).

And with that I'll leave for now. Might start up a sketchbook soon, but until then I'll keep posting and getting to know you all better!

I come from a small town called Danville, VA and I have been merchandizing my art for over 5-7 years. Heard this community had a bit of life in it ;). Thought I'd make an account after I saw the wealth of feedback and communication from everyone.

I'm a Uni student in the states, just realized I wanted art more than my previous major, and been studying for almost a year. Lots of self-study considering the college is pro modern abstraction and not realism or anything that would actually help me get work.

Current goal? Get into The Art Department with a scholarship and hope I can go lol.

I've been working on drawing for a bit. I feel like any progress I see is accidental and I don't
think I really know what to do in order to improve my abilities.
I mean drawing bad drawings can only enforce terrible habits.
But I wanna put in some real time and work towards a major improvement.

My name is Stian, I live in Norway and like to draw stuff.
I have been drawing on and off since I was a kid but put my pencils away for almost 10 years, started up again about two years ago (I have to thank my wife for kicking me in the butt and getting me started again as I do love it, it´s my chill/zone out activity)
I´m 36 years old, I live with my wife and our two daughters in a small town, work a 9 to 5 job and love art as a hobby, I want to improve and learn new stuff, evolve my skills and tecniques.
After listening to the podcast/watching Dave´s youtube videos i discovered Crimson Daggers, and now I have just registered
(yes it´s intimidating haha)
