So i've been wandering around this forums for a while and I have been tossing up the pro's and cons of actually committing to this kind of thing (In my opinion, it's a serious decision that I am making and I want to make it with complete certainty that I will push through with it.) Decided to push through with it, as I want to start working really soon and want to start getting really serious about it.
Um... where to start.
My name is Sarah.
I'm NZ Maori.
I'm female.
I have an obsession with dinosaurs that could rival a 10 year old boy (Hence the name).
I've been painting for only a couple of months, seriously at least.
Basically I'm just looking for some motivation, inspiration and like minded people to work with.
Greetings folks! Just started up an account here, shamelessly tagging along after my buddy Alex Konstad. I just graduated from TAD and am trudging away building my skills and portfolio and have been making daily studies a habit, and I've really missed having a solid online community to get feedback from.
So I've put some of my finished pieces here and will start up a study thread too. Looking forward to meeting all you upstanding folks! : )
I'm 33. I have always liked to draw. I use to play a lot of shadowrun when I was a teenager. After high school I got a job, a wife and a house. I had no time for "hobbies" After all this time I finally realized that there are people who do this for a living. I want to be one of those people.
My wife fully supports and believes in me.
I have been sketching part time for a while and I like doing plein air watercolor painting, just getting back into it. I'm terrible. With a cushion of savings and my wife helping, I quit my job ( it sucked anyway ) and I have this summer to devote to art.
While I'm at it, I Know Crimson Daggers ( also cghub ) is a good environment. Just lurking here has been amazing.
So that's me. I'll post a deathline soon and start a sketchbook.
Basically I'm here to find people who want to get better at the same things I want to get better at. I've already got a solid background in figure drawing, so I can do some mentoring there if anyone it, here's a few old examples, I've improved a bit since then: http://i.imgur.com/dN5Ma.jpg
But what I really want to improve on is industrial design in general, vehicles, buildings, interiors, weapons, and then things like armor and helmet design. If I could find a mentor that would be amazing, but they're so hard to come by, so I'm thinking of starting a study group. Anyone interested in working on ID?
I'm Maja from Croatia, and some of you might remember me from CA from a loooong time ago, my nick was The Whistler (as in Jethro Tull's song, not Whistler the painter, I'm not that good ;) )
Anyways, I'm a hobbyist, and I haven't been drawing in a while since my job and life didn't permit it, but I can't seem to get enough of drawing lately, so it looks like I'm back. If anyone's interested in any of my stuff, there are links to my blog, DevArt and CGHub gallery in my signature.
So, that's it, I guess. Looking forward to spending more time here. :)
Hi guys!
I've been meaning to join CD for a while now since I'm both working on my art and trying to meet people from the industry so I finally got around to making an account!
My name is Alice, I just finished studying my art course and I've been a freelance illustrator and game artist for the past 4 years.
You guys can check out my work here: http://alicebessoni.daportfolio.com/
Now that school is over, I've created my own study schedule and plan on filling up pages and pages of my sketchbook ;)
I might post some things here once in a while for critiquing and will also definitely help when I can =)
I'm a student in mathematics and economics, but i've always been drawing and painting, following some classes in art schools when i could afford it or simply painting by myself.
My studies take a lot of time, and during the schoolyear i can't draw every day (only three or four times a week). But here are the holidays ; i just discovered Crimson Daggers and lurked during the last days. I'll keep on lurking for a while, and then start posting.
I came here to practice, improve, discuss, meet other people, have fun, find some motivation.
My goal for the next two or three weeks is practicing digital art. I've always been drawing with pen and paper, or paintings.
See you soon !
caratheodory
PS : "Caratheodory" is the name of a XIXth century mathematician. He left an important and beautiful "extension theorem" in measure theory and some minor contributions to euclidean geometry and complex-variable calculus. I'll dump a portrait of him next week.
