Hey Folks,
I've been pushing the art thing hard for a couple years now and have come to the conclusion that I can't improve further without help and peer pressure. I didn't spend long enough on the fundamentals and most of my art seems to lack the feeling you get when you see something done by a real expert. I've watched Dave's stuff for a while and only recently found my way to the forums. The art around here is outrageous, so I'm going to try and find a group or a partnership to join and really push it to the next level.
See you all around!

Hi everyone,
My name is Jason and I am a freelance artist just starting out. My love is concept art and drawing cool stuff everyday.
things about me...................
Erm, I love playing games and watching movies, I sit in a dark room all day painting so I do not go out much, Sometimes when I am making a cup of tea I will do a little dance just to add a bit of fun to my day and that is it really.
I came across "freelance talks" on youtube and found them all to be most rewarding. I look forward to related videos and chats.
I will look forward to getting to know other freelancers and designers, have a great day.
Here is a link to my blog, critique is welcome.

Hi everyone,
I'm a Spanish student of digital art and 3d animation.
Recently I have started to create my own "identity" for the world, so everyone can find me around the Internet. But I came with a problem. My name. I know my art pieces (I am working on that every day!), are more important than my name, but the name is also important so people can find you easily and can remember it.
I would be glad if you could help me with this issue.
Just say which one of the following names sounds better in your non-Spanish speaker mind. XD
If you could write also your mother language.
My complete name is Xabier Sevillano Yeste, which I think is a problem for most non-Spanish speakers, due Sevillano is to long and hard to spell with that double "l" . Also the "Y" of Yeste could be hard....
I came up with this names that could sound better than mine.
Xabier Sy
Xabier Yeste
Xabier Sevi
Sevi
Of course if you come up with new ideas for the name, I would be glad to hear them.
Sorry if I destroyed the English and child Jesus is crying....
Thanks.
Just Xabier for now....

Hello, everyone! I just joined up this past week. My name's Angela Sasser (Ang for short), and I'd heard whisperings of this place in ImagineFX magazine and from other artist friends, so I thought I'd give it a go!
Random things about me since I'm horrible at introductions:
- I'm the author of Angelic Visions: Create Fantasy Art Angels With Watercolor, Ink and Colored Pencil. Sometimes I forget I wrote it since it's been a couple of years now.
- Aside from art, I'm also a leather mask-maker...and a writer...and a comic artist...and a beader. There are a lot of things I love to do! I have waaay too many hobbies and am always looking for new things to learn!
- It hardly shows through my flowy, angelic work, but I absolutely adore psychological horror movies and otherworldly folklore. (Fatal Frame is my favorite game series!)
- I'm a geek at heart. I've never grown out of comics, video games, and toys.:3
Finally, you can keep up with my Sketchbook thread here, where I've already posted a few things. I'm looking forward to getting involved in this community! There's a lot of talent and enthusiasm here that's so infectious.:)
You can also find me on DeviantART, Facebook, and Twitter.
I look forward to creating with all of you!

Wow, so much skill here!
My goal is to someday illustrate book covers, but I first really need to learn the basics, like anatomy, lighting, perspective, etc. So this year is anatomy.
I'm sketching my way through Loomis's "Figure drawing for all it's worth," plus whatever types of books Loomis recommends.
Is there anywhere around here where people are working on figures/people/anatomy drawing?

New, Old and trying... |

Hello,
I'm new (Obviously) here and have been directed here by the Awesome Robbie Trevino.
Im 35 and having been away from art for a f*%$king long time I'm returning. I was drawing and ashamed of my stuff a long, long time ago and never showed it (Old mech pencil on cheap drawing books) and my family did their best to shame me away from Art as it seems to be a dirty word. Not to mention art did not really exist here in Aus till recently Seeing as I am old and stupid, I have ignored their crap and I'm trying again now and my abilities are severely impaired as a consequence.
My biggest issue is getting b/w sketches on paper into Photoshop format and colouring it. I've been working n colour for at most, 1.5 years.I need help but i dont need people to destroy me where they see weakness. So I'm gonna need help. No "help" from those simply seeking a target to destroy in the guise of helpful critique-
I feel privelaged to be here, the Calibre of artists is astonishing,
Seeya round ; )

Hello, all!
My name is Tamires and I`m a graphic design from Brazil currently studying in Gainesville, Florida, on a scholarship. My dream is to become a concept artist and live through my art, so here I am, struggling to improve and seeking other good fellows to embrace the same journey with.
It`s been almost 3 years since I started drawing with a tablet, and I can say it wasn`t easy (nor it`s been), but hey, I`m having fun, so that`s what`s most important. In the mood of wishing to improve, I`m also seeking mentoring to work on specific problems. If you guys want to check out my study blog, it`s up here: my blog and my portfolio is here.
I`m also looking for streaming partners, so :)

I'm sure no one remembers, but I actually used to post in the daggers thread on CA.org back in the day when it first started (under the name lowkey)! I stopped when I moved to a different country and got a job totally unrelated to art. Now I'm back in to art and really regretting dropping out of the online art community. :( I'm just trying to get in to freelance professionally now and I am terrified and alone. My work is up here if anyone is interested: http://ardenbeckwith.blogspot.com.au/
I'm trying to break the habit of just lurking all the time. I would really love to be able to talk to people who are actually making a go of this freelance thing!
