I've been meaning to join CD for a while now since I'm both working on my art and trying to meet people from the industry so I finally got around to making an account!
My name is Alice, I just finished studying my art course and I've been a freelance illustrator and game artist for the past 4 years.

Hi, I'm Simon, 21, living in France.

I'm a student in mathematics and economics, but i've always been drawing and painting, following some classes in art schools when i could afford it or simply painting by myself.
My studies take a lot of time, and during the schoolyear i can't draw every day (only three or four times a week). But here are the holidays ; i just discovered Crimson Daggers and lurked during the last days. I'll keep on lurking for a while, and then start posting.

I came here to practice, improve, discuss, meet other people, have fun, find some motivation.

My goal for the next two or three weeks is practicing digital art. I've always been drawing with pen and paper, or paintings.

PS : "Caratheodory" is the name of a XIXth century mathematician. He left an important and beautiful "extension theorem" in measure theory and some minor contributions to euclidean geometry and complex-variable calculus. I'll dump a portrait of him next week.

Hello everyone,

My name is Andrei, I am following this group for a long time now.
I started out as a graphic designer, but I found that I enjoy drawing and painting much more even if I suck big time.
I learned by doing cheap commissions for the clients I used to do graphic design for. I am not big on personal work, as far as I can remember I only did one illustration for myself back when I started painting.

I don't really know anyone with similar interests, and don't have any social life especially because I moved to a city on the other side of the country recently. I work, learn and train all day, every day.

I would really like to build up my skills as a craftsman and push myself to do work outside client work.
If you have any suggestions how I can start my journey as a member of the group please do not hesitate to guide me. Also if I can help you with anything please let me know.

Hey everyone!

I started a sketchbook on here a few weeks ago but have yet to introduce myself.
I'm Andrew Ken, and I'm currently self-teaching myself with the goal of becoming a freelance artist. For anyone who wants to team up, my time-zone is GMT+1 (europe), and I'm usually painting mornings and afternoons, and sometimes late into the night.

in terms of art I'm here mainly to learn classical drawing and painting skills (and apply them in digital painting software). if anyone can also give me any pointers and advice to improve my technique based on anything you see in my sketchbook, I'd be extremely happy and grateful : ) i'm very open to critique and feedback so please don't hesitate to dig into stuff.

Teaching is something I'm interested in and would like to do in the future, so if anyone has any drawing or painting questions I'll help you out with anything. Just ask, and we can talk about it over PM, forum, or instant messaging etc.

Greetings! I'm Jon, I just started on the forums today! Excited by all the creative people on here and Im really looking forward to sharing some art and hopefully learning a lot!

Bit of background on me. I graduated from Westwood College in Denver, Colorado where I live ( worst decision of my life) and I have a bachelors degree in Video Game Art and Design. I love 3d. I love creating characters. Its one of my escapes from the stresses of my job and life. I do a lot of modeling in 3ds max as well as character sculpting using zbrush. I also love just drawing. Ever since I was a kid I'd draw my favorite comic and video game characters. I have never been a good painter. It doesnt matter if its water color, pastel, acrylic, or whatever. Color is one of my main downfalls as an artist. Im always intimidated by it. I could spend hours doing a great piece in monochromatic grey scale but as soon as i try to apply color, it looks like a 5 year old did it lol. Thats why I have tried to make it a goal this year to start doing character designs in full color in photoshop. Ive always admired the artists that could digital paint but as I said was always intimidated to try personally. Lately however Ive really tried to give it a shot because I know that is the only way I can grow and become better.

I am an artist just trying to get better. I worked in the indie game community for a couple years. After releasing the first facebook game I decided it was time to move on. I am coming here in the hopes that some of you find it in your time to critique and help kick my ass to help prep me for the real world.
