Hai!
My name is Meonah and I was referred to this site by some painter guys i know that I stalk just shy of obsessively. When I asked where to go to learn they sent me here.
I am a digital artist just starting to come into my own.
I have never done art for money, it has always been more of a hobby. But I want more, I want to get better so with the help if these painters i stalk they have given me a plethora of resources I can use I have implemented.
I don't expect to get better without hard work and practice, and that is why I am here, to learn ^.^
If anyone has some good Ebooks to read on art wether traditional or digital please let me know. Or if you have tips I'd like to know those as well!
Right now I am trying to conquer scenery. I am trying to do a painting with trees and foliage, but i cant seem to grasp how to get the tree foliage to look right. A fan brush seems to work great for fuzzy foliage like ferns and what not, but it makes trees and other foliage look funny.
I'm just getting the hang of painting textures with different brushes (talking photoshop here id make a terrible mess with traditional media im sure of it haha). I have watched some traditional painting tutorials to find out how THEY tackle foliage and I am enlightened a bit, but i need more knowledge!
Not just with trees, but all sorts of scenery!
And hey, why stop there, anything else for that matter would be great.
Anyone taking apprentices? haha!

I really admire all the talented people that can turn out master pieces in a matter of hours, and I hope to meet and speak with a good percentage of them at least!
I am here to improve and to perhaps makes friends and network, so don't be shy and send a message my way! ^.^

I'm 16, from Norway and have just recently started the fun and difficult journey of digital painting after about a year of serious traditonal drawing. Looking for tutorials and other people sharing the same interest I stumbled over this place, which seems like a perfect place to start.
I'm looking forward to participate in the forums, competitions and hopefully improve my skills a lot.

Hi, everyone! Found out about CrimsonDaggers when a friend of mine told me about Bloodsports 13, and I said: "Hey, what the heck! I need the practice, since I'm having trouble keeping myself working." So that's how I found this awesome community!
I'm 22, from Romania. I'm in my final year of The Arts University. It's always been my dream to work in the concept art and illustration industry, but going to school kinda kept me from that road (they don't really encourage this industry that much) so I kinda discovered my artistic side, fell in love with urban art, experimental comics and contemporary art. So now, I'm in my final term and I have to finish my diploma thesis and the afferent artwork, and I'm just hanging around CrimsonDaggers forum, slacking from my atelier work, going back on the road I left behind 4 years ago: concept art.

Hi there. Well, first of all I want to thank Dave and Den for great interviews and of course for this web site(or to whoever is behind it) trough which I can share my work with all you beautiful and talented people. As for me, my name is Nenad Gojkovic and I'm 25 years old self-taught concept artist from Serbia, Belgrade. Currently, I'm quite good at weapons/props design, but my ambitions don't stop there. I want to learn and be good at everything else - vehicles, air crafts, creatures, etc. It's gonna take some time of course, until I master all those things but I'm patient and working really hard to achieve that goal. Hope to make it.

Would appreciate your thoughts on my works presented so far in the finished section. Thanks in advance and see you around!

Hello everyone!

I'm 26 years old, living in New York, and started taking art seriously almost one year ago. Just like everyone here I want to start working in the concept art/illustration industry. Within the next two years, I hope to be making a living doing what I love. Here is my (now abandoned) sketchbook from conceptart.org so you can take a look at my previous work.

I finally decided to stop lurking and start participating in this amazing community of artists. It's great how studies and hard work are stressed in this community and how the members all strive to encapsulate those qualities into themselves and their workflow! I also LOVE how this place is much more close-knit and free of elitism compared to other forums.

I will be getting out of my shell and start participating in this the challenges, sketchbooks, and livestreams so I will be seeing you guys in the near future!
