Hi Everyone,

I had random painting/drawing classes here and there, and took a few digital classes at CGMA recently.
Currently working in visual fx for an animation studio.

Hoping this forum will help me stay motivated in pushing myself to become a better painter..
(Due to work/family this is an after-hours candle-burning kind of activity.. :) )

Hello everyone

I'm signing up on CD in the hopes that it will encourage me to draw more and start posting some things I draw online. I started drawing fairly late in life, I been activly trying to improve for the last year. I used to only sketch and doodle but tried my hand at digital painting for the first time in january. As a new artist wanting to learn I'm probably among the older ones, recently turned 31. It's probably a rough road ahead but since i live in a small town in in the cold northern parts of europe there isn't many things to do here anyway :) I try to spend a few hours each day drawing, some of those hours doing studies and others just random things that don't turn out to be anything. I'm looking forward to get deeper into the world of the CD community.

wow this is scary, feels like the first day of a new school (of bad asses lol).
my name is Alex and i cant believe i finally worked up the courage to post here. Ive been lurking as a guest for a few weeks now after many people told me to get on here and start learning with you all as its a bed of talent :). I am pretty simple I love to draw and paint (only actually ever done one painting, but i know i like it a lot!) and i just wanna learn and get better so any hints and tips are mucho welcomo and it would also be nice to make a few friends with similar interests so yeah this is me and i look forward to getting to know you all :^).

My name is Amanda "Mandii" Solano, and I'm certainly pleased to be here!

First, let me tell you a bit about myself: I'm 23 years old, I live in the US (Florida) and I have been dabbling in and practicing art since I've been able to hold a crayon. I've always known that this is what I want to do with my life, and I'm always looking for ways to improve.

I started like many have, imitating what I watched on TV as a child, Sailor Moon, Dragon Ball Z, et cetera. I started doing digital art when I was 13, got my first Wacom tablet and Photoshop and had NO IDEA what I was doing for many years. I started out slow--lots of anime work and other 'cartoon-y' subjects of that nature. It wasn't until I reached high school that I became even remotely interested in realism, painting, or mediums other than pencil/ink/marker and digital.

I would describe my current art style as semi-realism, but I am slowly leaning more towards realism as my skills grow with time. My real passion in life is illustration and character design.

Professionally, I have managed small local clientele for Graphic Design work for local (off-internet) businesses and done various commission works through (DeviantART) You will notice that a lot of the art there isn't what I would consider 'current'

Personally, I am here to improve myself and learn from the talented artists here. I am serious about my work, and after a rather long and painful 'hiatus' due to various personal reasons, I am ready to get back in the game. I NEED to get back in the game... seriously. I'm going crazy without having a creative outlet.


I have a long way to go as an artist, I have no illusions about that, and I hope working with my peers and those would I would consider my 'betters' in the industry can help me improve and be the best I can be! Take me out of my comfort zone, I challenge you! :D

Hi, my name's Ken and I'm very new to forums.
I heard about this site through a Dave Rapoza livestream and thought I'd check it out.
When he said it was for serious artist who really want to get good, I thought this would be the perfect place to join.
I'm 18 and I want to become a manga-ka in Japan so that I could get an anime one day. Just the thought of seeing my own characters move and speak drives my ambition through the roof. I know that requires a lot of skill and a lot of practice, so I thought this would be a great place to push myself.
I'm also teaching myself Japanese so if anyone knows a thing or two, I'd love to communicate with you.

Hey guys :)

My name is Cesar and i'm a college student from Brazil. I've been drawing casually since i was a child - but 2 or 3 years ago i found digital painting and got a bit more serious about it, buying books, watching tutorials and using most of my freetime to paint, read and do studies.
Lately i've been feeling down because most of the people around me (including my family) don't seem to care much about my drawing. I'm missing a bit of comradery, so i decided to join a forum and meet new people - hence i'm writting this right now.
