Hey all, I'm an artist from Germany and I just signed up today (though I should have ages ago). Like others here, I hope to work as a fulltime freelance artist some day, and am currently working towards that goal. I need to increase my rate of studying quite a bit, since I noticed I rely maybe a bit too much on reference for my art. So I guess I'm in the right place!

For now I'm focusing mostly on fantasy themes (my favourite). I'd like working in games (especially board games), RPGs, card art, and maybe books covers.

My name is Carl Kenneth Sago, digital artist based from the south suburbs of Chicago, IL.

A couple friends of mine convinced me to join Crimson Daggers and start a sketchbook. Anybody wanna welcome me and show me the ropes?

Hello there. Trying to reach out to a friendly community to expand my skills and trade off some advice and training with similar people. So far I have been enjoying some other communities over the internet and am just eager to hear what people have to say about my work. I'm also eager to see what other people are bringing to the table!

Always up for critique and am always willing to see what others can do! Art is amazing and therapeutic. Sounds clique but it really and truly is.

Welcome guys!

My name is Raphael. I'm 17 years old, based in Austria and currently working as a Web Designer in an advertising agency. I'm looking forward to study at an university something art related next year - oh and my dream is of course to make a living with art/design one day :D

I've started with drawing around one year ago and started with (digital painting) lately. I had a sketchbook running at CGHUB, but since it's not existent anymore, I'd still like to continue my journey here and thought of creating a new sketchbook.

Really looking forward to improve with you together, cheers. :)

Hello all,

I'm not exactly new here, but I am looking to get more active in the community with the whole give-take crits initiative it has, and really push my work that bit further.

I've been steadily sinking into the art studies for the past 2 years (after a drastic deviation from that path that involved a degree in physics and a string of crappy jobs), and am currently hacking away at polishing up my skills to turn out a complete, and at least somewhat consistent portfolio in hopes of getting some work.

I popped a couple of links to my work in my sig for any one who is interested.

Thanks for reading!

Hello! My name is Ryan Gates, and I'm an Alco... wait.. is this room 205? Shoot.

Well, since I'm here, I might as well admit I'm an artist too. I graduated from the DigiPen Institute of Technology in 2012, but am struggling to land a career in my degree field. While I am comfortably able to pay off my college debt with a Pizza Delivery job, I am looking for ways to crack my art blocks, my social anxiety over my art and style, and keep myself motivated to try new things and to improve with projects. I would like to be a video game artist and animator, but I would be equally comfortable with Flash or Toon Boom cartooning and animation. I consider myself an intermediate user of 3Ds Max and Maya, an expert with Photoshop and Flash, and a total noob when it comes to relaxing and not comparing my art to everyone else and curling up into a little ball of self pity and non-drawing.

So, It's nice to meet you all and maybe find some more motivation and companionship when it comes to doodles, drawings, and drudgery!

My current portfolio is available at www.TheEmeraldDragon.net. I tend to enjoy character art and animation, but would be mildly interested in environmental practice and expanding my range a few ways.

Hello everyone!

I have just finished my degree in 2D animation (yes, that still exist!) a couple of days ago and this one thing I decided to do after college is to become more self-taught. This is something that I feel that I need to learn and I'm going to! I don't want to rely solely on others to make art.

Many of my friends in school are going to get another degree but I'm tired of being in school. The things that I want to learn aren't taught in the traditional schools where I come from. If I want to learn digital painting, concept art or illustration, I would need to go to a school in another country or take online classes but I can't afford those at this moment. So, I decided to learn by myself at this moment.

It's pretty much Noah Bradley's article that brought me here so I thought, what the heck! This place will be much more motivating to produce art! What I pretty much want to do here is increase my drawing and my digital painting skills, just like anyone else here.

I hope to be able to grow here!

Thanks guys!
-J.

P.S. If you are wondering what ''Vompt'' means, it's the name of a character in my student short filmWink
