Having been inspired inumerous amount of times throughout the years, I've always felt that I wanted to be a better artist and grow to someday work on a game, movie or even an animated film, and eventually run my own studio. I was in a college for media arts, but that didn't really work out completely, due to financial issues. So, a little discouraged at first, but I've decided to hold fast to the dream and keep moving forward best I can. ,I'm Eljay , I'm a 20 year old student currently studying Game art and design at De Montfort university. Currently I'm in my first year , trudging through the 3D sludge (as helpful as it maybe in the future) whilst trying to constantly level up my standard 2D skills.

Hence Why I'm joining up here, to get some good advice from like minded students and professionals alike to develop artistic skills That I wish to learn that will ,hopefully, propel me into A career one day.

I'm 26 and looking to become a great artist. I know I'm a little late to the scene, age-wise, but hopefully not TOO late. And yes, I greatly regret not starting earlier. But I plan to make up for it now.

The road is going to be long, hard, full of frustrations, disappointments and many moments of rage and confusion. I know that. And I still wanna do it, because it's fun.

I'll start up a Sketchbook thread soon so you guys can see what I'm doing. Hopefully I'll find a creative home here and make some friends.

99% of my professional work always went into children and young adults books, did some advertising, posters and stuff, but lately i decided it was time to take a step forward in my career, speaking of style and genre.
working hard to make my way into concept art for gaming, or videogames, cards, whatever.

i've been part of the internet art community since forever, but always struggled to get a decent feedback, deviantart and other forums/communities has become so big that i'm less than a drop in the ocean, and getting noticed and receive professional critiques from other professionals is almost impossible..

so here i am, looks like this could be the place, i see there's lot of interaction between users so i'll try to be as active as possible, posting wips, sketches and finished works.. and why not helping others if in my capabilites.. ;)

Soooo I gathered the courage and joined this awesome forum. I heard so much about crimson daggers from many artists that I just had to check it out.

Anyhow, I'm a graduated graphic designer from eastern Europe, that was always intimidated by drawing and 2 months ago something in me snapped (probably due to the fact that I'm not happy as a graphic designer) and I decided to finally learn how to draw. I always wanted to be an illustrator and an artist but some kind of fear held me back. I'm hear to learn from you guys.

So far I've been practicing for last two months and I'm happy with my progress. I've opened a personal sketchbook thread (fetf's sketch book at that forum section) and I can use any help you can offer! Cheers!

Hi guys! My name is April, I'm 18 years old and a freshman in college but I'm not studying art - I am self-taught and drawing has been my hobby since I was small but it was usually pretty stylized and not very versatile. This year I want to focus on the fundamentals and drawing from life while I have lots of free time.
I'll be starting a sketchbook here to keep track of my progress and hopefully get some much needed crit. I'd like to be able to have commission worthy art at some point but my main goal is simply to draw a lot and improve a lot.
