Welcome, awesome sketches! I like the way you simplified values on the soldiers, will try a similar approach.

Thanks! Here's some more studies. The sketches are done while looking at the photos, not by tracing over them.

Oh really dig the pen look in your sketches. I assume they're done digitally or are those traditional? Can't really tell. But none of the less great work.

Cool stuff! I especially liked your soldiers, hyenas and wolfs.
Whats your background? How long have you been drawing, are you selftaught?

Hey, Markus, i'm 29 and i've been working as a 2d/concept artist for more than 8 years(my last job was as a 2d artist in Gameloft Sofia). I've learned most of what i know from the internet :> the downside(because i'm lazy :) is that i've always looked for shortcuts and tricks for making my work pretty. I'm trying to fix that now, by really learning the fundamentals, and ways to apply them.

And that brings me to answer Brian's question - yes those are digital sketches, i've made a pencil brush so i can try to merge my traditional and digital ways of work. I'm thinking of making a video about that, but for now i can only do process stuff like these

These look really nice. You sure know how to capture the essence of a photo and make it yours. Great work here.

That wolf tho, good stuff. Nice anatomy work as well, like how you incorporated them into the characters.

For a year now, every Monday, i do a review of my anatomy knowledge(bones, muscles). I call them the monday recaps :>

Here are some examples:

really great stuff. I like your exaggerated style. Monday recaps seem like a fantastic idea. How do you keep it from being monotonous?
