You guys are too sweet, I don't deserve all this support ._.
Mannyhaatz - haha you kill me Man <3
ramalooke - D: but thank you ramalooke! Lets keep pushingggggg!
Rognoll - o: am I? haha awesome if you think so! Thanks man
Fedodika - eeeeh :3 thanks you Fedodiiiiiika -- yeah haha definitely gotta think more when it comes to design though!
ImSkeptical - whoa! Hey you! Long time no speak D: thank you, really means a lot. Gotta keep at it ~ looking forward to checking out your work!
Okay, another packed day - I only had the time to pump out a silly sketchbook page and a half finished face practice from imagination... as well as some 20-30min failed skin tone practises before heading on the houseboat last week. But hey, screw it! I'm updating. It doesn't even matter if these suck now because they won't in the future... just gotta keep at it.
quick skin tone pracs:
today:
See what happens when try to paint differently? Ugh
tomorrow is another half-day, but I'll make the most of it and definitely, definitely be focussing on imaginative work. As I was watching the Australian Opens, I noticed the tat on Wawrinka's arm, before he beat Djokovic (*sob*) which read:
"Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better."
That's just it.
Improving is about making mistakes, about failing, unintentionally. It's as simple as that. So I've gotta stop being a pussy and live outside that comfortable home of mine; If you catch my drift.
Lots to do, coo coo ca choo ~

I like your post, especially since I've slowed down a bit myself. "It doesn't even matter if these suck now because they won't in the future... just gotta keep at it. " liked this line :)

I'm really drooling over some of your traditional drawings, like the first one in #429 is so awesome, haha.

Artur J - thanks Artur ^ ^ just gotta keep going 'til I dig my own stuff ;)
Peppermint Butler - <3 <3 and I meant every single word. Thank you Mr. Butler ~
Fedodika - Muuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuch looooooove! Great share Fedodika :D!!
Researched today and more failing to get better:
unfinished, no ref (obv) ~2-3hours?
Yesss, I should get into objective 3 for DS, but I said I'd focus on imaginative work (predominantly skin because it's my ultimate fear... and passion. lol. I love characters and if I can't paint skin, what good am I?)
Night daggers, can't wait for tomorrow o/
(maybe I'll finally be able to check out some sketchbooks!)

Good to see that youve started posting every day, skin can be a tricky thing to study.
I usually try to see the underlying dark colors and then lay the lights on top of them.
Master studies are really useful. They exaggerate the skin tones in a right way and make learning process better.

FINALLY SOME BOOBS IN HERE :D
uhhh yea, some master studies are super helpful, specially if you zoom in and try to paint the little hue variations.. it's scary those guys could do with oil paints what most people can't even figure out with digital and 3d stuff haha!

Happy Australia Day in 9 mins, fellow Aussies!
Promised myself I'd get back into digi painting after tomorrow - all I'm doing at the moment is observing and sketching. Which isn't bad... but... I know what I should be working on improving.
So here's a couple of sketchbook stuff, more character building fun:

Happy Australia day! Put a few koalas on the barbie for me. Or whatever it is you do down there.
Looking forward to seeing the digital stuff, pencils are looking delicious in the meantime. Watch your ellipses, that cooking pot's a bit off. Also Maybe try only hatching in one direction, or going across the forms instead of with them.
Keep killing it!!!!

Haha yase Fedodika... dat taste ;)
Okay I'm pretty much forcing myself out of this... whatever kind of art block/burn-out I've been in; last year if I was completely uninspired, I wouldn't draw at all that day, which wasn't so good. But now with updating everyday - I've been forcing myself to draw something a day... anything... just so long as I draw - which has lead to burning through many uninspired ideas, doodles and whatever before I track down that spark that made me draw in the first place. Character building has helped a lot with finding that spark.
Losing sight of what I love is what makes me give up on many wips. My workload has been so dry lately because of this. I tend to focus way to much on the study side of art and don't pay attention to personal work. I've been over-thinking everything and all that's done is raised stress levels and caused problems. Objective 3 for DANGER SQUAD is due in 2 days and I've started again.
But I know it's for the better.
Bring on the new day!
(unrelated to DS, just another wip ;) )
