Elderscrollers Sketchy Stuff
Started the day with a meeting....what better place to doodle some thumbnails :)

Some hand drawings without and with reference

Tried to step out of my comfort zone and do some extreme perspective angles. I failed miserably and did some studies instead. I need to switch off autocorrect in my brain for this extreme foreshortening!

@Othrandir: Thanks! Some basic shapes once in a while are great to get into the mood, especially if you are unsure of what to draw

Some hand/feet studies and some characters for fun. I have to start doing more digital stuff soon....Doing too much comfort zone stuff :(

Update after some no upload phase with some things done lately:

An armor study

A landscape study from photo reference

A master study (Bierstadt):

Some thumbnail master studies in color and value (mostly Bierstadt and Hudson River school)

Pencil studies from photoreference, from http://andantonius.deviantart.com/ and from http://alexpascenko.deviantart.com/

A character design sketch in pencil and in paint:

A landscape "speedpainting" taken a slight step further (not finished though)

Cool stuff dude! Keep plugging away.

Bit of a crit on that landscape speedpaint, I can't tell if the tree, city, or warrior are the most important things in the image. I think editing on or 2 of them out might make the focal point more clear

Great studies & sketches! The excessive amount of anatomy studies definitely pays off! Really believable characters and poses!

Reply
@Samszym: Thanks for your crit, as always! Yeah, I messed up the focal point. I tried to create a row of focal points, but that doesn´t work well

@Kaffer: Thanks very much! Good to hear studying actually does improve oneself :)

I made some random character generator, based on the character generator here on the Crimson Dagger forum to try to create characters that someone/something else describes. It went better as expected because it takes away that blank canvas in your mind. I tried to stay as true to the description as possible.
The first one, I sketched out and made a rendering of it, the others are just pencil sketches, maybe I´ll render some of those

An update with studying pencilsketches from other fellow artists, sort of master studies. I tried to analyze how others apply pencils and afterwards I did some sketches on my own.

Hi Elderscroller,

I really like that 'monster rider' in the last post. And that little still life is so cute :)
Your work is very inspirational!

@JeanDoe: Thanks very much!

The expressions are looking good man! Im always impressed at how consistent you work too. It makes me feel guilty for not doing enough drawing. So dont ever stop :D

Reply
@Hypnagogic_Haze: Thanks! I know that feeling. I always feel guilty for not drawing enough myself :) Guess that won´t go away so easily, even if you´d draw for 8 hours a day

Small update; just ignore the beast master character, it turned out awful and stiff looking. Just added it to also archive bad work
