Fedodika the Koala
Nooow thaaat's looking much better already! See how your paintings already start to look more consistent? That portrait is really one of your best by far in my opinion! :D Really glad if the critiques given are helping you in any way! Keep going ;)

You are your only limits!

so talked to jeff watts on the phone today, was quite surreal. He's an awesome dude, he can convey so much information in the 4 or five minutes we spent talking. I really hope i can get enough money one day to fly out there and just absorb all i can from the atelier.

Also from now on i'm just gonna focus on anatomy and drapery; in my head all my characters i want to depict seem to only need that, and maybe a few ornaments. I'm gonna study bouguereau alot and just try to enjoy myself more while i improve my technical skill, then i'll approach design way later.

Awesome man, I hope you make it over there! I'm sure it would be a fantastic experience. :)

Fedoooooooooooooodikaaaaaa-!

Go for it with the studies man <3 if that's all you feel you need to paint your endeavours, shoot for gold!

My only crits for now is that I feel your lights are too light. You want to start of with a darker canvas and get your lights to pop at the end ~
I think this'll really do something for your arts meng

Also, eventually you'll get to Watt's and it'll be amazeballin'
Keep it up Mr. Koala ^ ^

Smmmmmmmrrrrmylovefettte: HNNNNNG IDK i just wish i could CHANNEL MY EMOTION OF EXCITEMENT BECAUSE I LUV U SOOORRR MUCH MMMM; ur right about the light thing i'll give it a shot :D

Adam: thanks bro, might give it a shot! still wanna go to Encinitas one day for the real deal... just to meet the awesome people who work there; specially erik cuz he's great at drapery and i'm super into that!

So here are some dumb studies, i need to apply stuff; finally got two monitors, and i'm making a schedule to stick to while i'm working on the things i want to work on. I feel alot more relaxed practicing now; like since i started focusing on drapery and anatomy; i don't really care for drawing dragons or cool armor, i just like painting ladies and their clothing so... here's to that!

hey guize, this month i'm focusing on skin and drapery as those are what i enjoy the most. I'm slowly trying to figure out how to paint a figure well with proper or at least passable anatomy in the meantime; Here is a piece i spent probably 30 hours on, but man the minute you finish one of these pieces the more you realize you suck :/

Your latest painting is looking good! I would, however, recommend that you continue to work on your faces. Perhaps look at some reference and compare to see what's off.
You're doing good, keep going! ^^

The Koala has been productive as ever!! 0_0 Doing great, keep doing what you’re doing!

Random note: Not sure if it’s a monitor calibration issue or just your preference, but I think some of your paintings could need a tiny bit more contrast in some areas - and by contrast I mean mostly pushing the darkest darks in focal areas. Like some almost (but not quite) black for the eyes (pupil). Same with edges, make them crispest in places where you want us to look first - not in random areas.

Keep it up!

Oooh yes, edges hard as fuck confirmed!
Go on though, you're on the right path!

And I own you a million comments <3 Great work on the caricatures.
Let me suggest a link for inspiration? There is an awesome Brazilian artist called Thiago Hoisel that does amazing caricature art: http://tiagohoisel.cgsociety.org/
I think you will enjoy it <3

Loving that caricature work, Fedodika! I'd echo what Sula said and work on your contrast a bit more. Good stuff as usual, Koala man!

Caricature work is looking great, and your edges are improving! Maybe hit up some of your anatomical fundamentals as it feels like that + form principles are lacking. Keep it up, great progress! : D

hello there! :D
Liking this stuff, like others have said, values and colors too light in most of your paintings, dont be afraid to go crazy and try extreme shadow/light schemes in some of your studies.
On the other hand, i like your color paletter for the skin, both the edges and textures are starting to look good, so keep pushing!

Nice improvement!
I'd focus a bit on the construction of the overall body but specially the head, them caricatures are gonna help you a ton, but if I may make a suggestion, try animating a head 360º turnaround, if you see improvements do the same with a body, it really tests your knowledge of 3d forms.
