New Stuff

Playing around and learning some Oculus Medium. Brought it into keyshot then and applied the toon effect.
The whole work flow is super quick.

I also released a new photo pack from my travels to Sicily. https://gum.co/CdvEG

Some new studies, I was looking at Mike Lisowski and Ryan Lang for this one. Trying to get better at stylising shapes.

You're definitely know what you're doing, man. Good stuff, you might also like Sławek Fedorczuk. ;)

Why do you complain of your fate when you could so easily change it?

One of the pieces I was doing for the beneath the waves challenge. Didn't have time for the full challenge unfortunately but I still want to make the keyframes I had in mind. I used Oculus Medium to help out with imagining the piece. VR is amazing for blocking out scenes! Any thoughts let me know..

Ooh love the Eyvind style work :) He quickly became one of my favorites after i found him through the banner saga. You've really captured his style!

As for the waves challenge, it would be interesting to see it done in Eyvind's style perhaps? Its too good of a style to leave it limited only to snowy hills and mountainsides imo!

I think you could also emphasize a bit more the yellow in the lit areas. Right now everything exists in the same blue light spectrum. You could add an additional layer of contrast by having the lit areas err more on the yellow side. Lighting the skull and the clown fish within it with such a yellow light could out bring out some of their natural yellows too, rather than the blue light which mutes the orange a bit

This one is from an aquarium but the same idea:

I'm also quite fond of the atmosphere you've captured in the greyscale version. Could be worthwhile pushing that specific composition and value comp further as it has a lot of potential as it stands

Beautiful work mate, I love the warm vs cool on this last piece. Nice clean shapes too.

Keep it going!

Trying out a little series on Youtube "Big Bag of Critiques" where I help people out with their artwork and try to give some over-paints, advice and share some tips. This is aimed primarily at people newer to this stuff. Thanks to Curtis Ryan for being the first person! If anyone else finds this helpful or terrible sure leave me some feedback and I can try to make changes to improve it, thanks!
