The main issue are values. Check out Anthony Jones on youtube. He has some great tutorials and is a master of values.

Will do that, thanks.

Here's my latest speedpaint. Its a card for the Online Card Game 'Hearthstone - Heroes of Warcraft'.
Its the artwork that the Dreadlord I posted was from.

This seems to be the best I am able to create at my current stage in digital.
Took me very long time and even if you might see some flaws if you are more advanced,
I really like how it turned out:

Nice start man.
Studying value and form is the most essential thing you need to learn, you can't paint colour well without value.
A few things i'd reccomend for learning value is a vid Sycra made called the value game which is a quick excercise to train your brain to see values better.
Form studies like this http://img07.deviantart.net/0ba8/i/2014/...7a377q.jpg or http://pre09.deviantart.net/470c/th/pre/...8utim8.png are amazing for learning values and form and it's easy for people to critique as well since there's not as much going on.
Still lifes as well are always a good way of practicing form and value.

Hope this helps :)

I wondered about the hype around Undertale and played the game. So here is some Undertale stuff.

A video on how-to-draw some of the characters.

Here is a little Timelapse Armor study I made:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lA692SrjLzg
(it's an armor from a game)

And btw. I read this Thread from the beginning again, and i realized that I am way more producing finished artworks with any motives that interest me instead of practicing the initial goal of becoming able to draw from imagination. And I would say its not the main goal anymore. But I will return to some from-imagination-practice soon.

Hey man, looks like you're starting to do more studies. Learning to do copies is an important stage in learning this stuff. I think what would help you the most right now is to improve your accuracy with copying. Try doing some of these simple bargue plates like this page of eyes

http://www.pwlawrence.com/temp_art/drawi...e%2001.jpg

The goal is to use various measuring methods to nail the proportions and get an exact copy. Take as many measurements as you need. As you get better you wont need as many measurements to get exact copies.

Thank you, Adam Lina, I did Barque-Eyes before to study eyes, I didnt know they are used to practice exact copying, I will try that soon!

I began creating my own world now.
This week I made several drawings of it and I made all of them into a timelapse video. This time I did not make only timelapse with maybe music, but I tried to make it more interesting and talked over it.
Initially I wanted to make it 30minutes, but I had some trouble talking so much. I made it 16 minutes now.

It would be awesome if some of you could find the time to watch it and give me some feedback on the format, on my ideas and on the drawings. Especially the format, because I plan on making a series out of it.

Here's the video:

And because I don't want to only post a link, here is the first picture from the video, a set of thumbnails:

Sometimes you have very nice perspective but some others your stuff looks flat.
Those mills are flat.
The houses and blacksmiths from your videos looks good with proper perspective.

Just that :)
and keep going!

Yes, I heard that before. You are right. Trying to improve it in the future.

Practicing some faces from Lifedrawing and studying Loomis and stuff like that.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Also kind of connected drawing with talking about a strategy game (Europa Universalis 4).
Turned out as an 1,5h video where I talk about my game and draw the map and stuff.
In case you are interested in strategy games maybe you want to check it out. If you dont, then dont.
