Hi! I'm an an aspiring illustrator and Concept Artist. I've been drawing on and off since middle school but started taking practicing seriously around last winter. I like cool characters from manga like DBZ, Bleach, and Slam Dunk and would like to draw stuff that evokes that type of cool, adventurous feeling. I also really like blockbuster films like Star Wars as well as coming of age movies like the Breakfast Club.

 I am currently conflicted about school since I found out about art as a job around second year so I switched to the closest thing to art at my school. I switched from Mechanical Engineering to Industrial Design. My classes aren't exactly what I want since its mostly model-making and takes up a lot of my drawing practice time. I'm stuck here right now as a third year and am waiting to graduate (which will take an extra year since I changed majors) so I can dedicate all my time to practicing and entering the industry. A bit confused on my path in life but am inspired to become as good as Dave.

I can't really decide whether to use my username for everything and separate it from my real facebook and instagram or just connect everything and use my real name instead. Also I started my sketchbook on Sycra.net and don't really know if I should repost everything from there or just start from where I am now.

Hello to everyone.

I created my acount some time ago, but didnt actually have to time to properly say hi to everyone, so I want to do that now.

I am german and live in a small town in the southwest. I've been drawing in my younger years, but had a break for more than ten years until I discovered that I missed it. Thats been in 2013. Since then I tried to practice as often as work permitted, and I feel I have made a significant improvement since then.

Starting to paint again has totally turned my world around, I have quit my day job and will start to study in October. I hope this forum can help me to push to the next level and that I will meet lots of creative art-enthusiasts with whom I can share thoughts and insights, failures and frustrations.

I'll post some of my stuff in the thread, so y'all can see what I do. Feel free to critique if you want.

Hey guys. I've been on this crazy art journey since roughly 2009, even though I've been drawing since I could walk. I really need to improve in everything, and I've advanced, forgotten, gotten worse, given up, started again, and everything else seemingly a million times already. But eventually I get back in, I can never leave. I struggle with a positive mindset and staying optimistic, because frequently I get over anxious and get full of self doubt and overload myself. It's hard, but I'm getting better at not feeling worthless about my art.

I don't have any recent 2d stuff I am really proud of (I've had a really bad problem with finishing drawings I start over the years as you might notice), but here's some older examples anyway to help you gauge where I'm at I suppose:

Hi, my name is Yasmin and I live in the Middle East; thankfully in a peaceful area. I studied fine art (mainly painting) and used traditional media from pencils to oil paints but I get a lot of art blocks; hopefully this forum will encourage me to get back to painting traditionally and maybe try digital painting. I love color, value, still life , nature and gesture sketches but have a few issues with detailed figures and anatomy that I want to improve. Building a decent portfolio is also hard for me as I don't know exactly what I  want to specialize in within 2D art. I saw over the internet that this is a good place to connect with other artists and people interested in art so I joined the website. I'm willing to start posting my sketches and practice files soon. Hi i'm Anselmi. I've been practicing as much as i can for a few months and finally got around to do an account here. :D Might as well make some connections and maybe even help some people/ get useful tips! 
A bit about myself, I have mainly practised with traditional mediums(pencils and acrylics) but last march i started doing mostly photoshop stuff. I attented Art focused High school and although i didn't learn all that much there i've wanted to learn all about art ever since. My greatest wish is to be some sort of illustrator/ concept artist or 2D artist in general.

Hello all!

I was told to sign up and get gooder. 
Which is totally fine because I'd like to stop being a scrub and be a much better artist this time next year. In terms of rendering people, animals and hopefully environments. I know my colours are a bit weak too. I started a Games Art & Design course last year, which pretty much force me to open up photoshop and learn to do things with it. 

Time to go create a sketchbook.

Hey guys what's up, just wanted to stop by and do a somewhat of a formal introduction as i spin on my chair typing this. 

Some of you might know me from the Draw or Die group and some of you might not (nor really care) haha. :/

But i'd like to say hello to everyone and i'm looking forward to jamming out with the new Crimson family. 

I've started a sketchbook where i'll be growing alongside you fucking monsters. 

So far the community has been very welcoming, we're gonna have a ton of Draw or Die people come through, so if you could also be awesome to them, that'd be great. :)

Anyways i am a full time Graphic Designer which takes up 80% of my day at the office and the other 20% i spend with my three girls and my sketch pad. I love drawing and i am still learning, I like lots of pizza and playing video games in my spare time.
