I saw the Crucible challenge description and it immediately caught my interest! I'd love to participate.
I'm 27...currently a concept artist at ArenaNet; I'd like to get better at designing as well as finishing a painting for once in my life haha...cheers!
i´m a 23 year old guy from Germany, i started drawing like 3-4 months ago so i am at the very beginning of it.
I´ve spent the last months mostly on figure drawing (proko) and some other basics. I currently have the feeling i am not coming any further with my stuff and loosing my motivation.
Alltough i dont have a clear view about the entire forum yet, i hope to get some good tips, not only about art but also about motivation and stuff like that.
I´m planing to set myself a deathline for some goals that i will do in the next 2 months as well as a sketchbook eventhough i´m kind of afraid because im really not that far with my stuff.
Do you have any other tips what i can do in this forum as a beginner?
It's been a while since I've been part of an art community, so hopefully I'm not doing this entirely wrong...
Hello, I'm a mediocre artist who took a break from drawing, but wants to get back into it and improve. I'm not great at finding motivation alone, so when I saw that there's a partner/group option on this forum, I got really excited and well, here I am. This entire board is kind of overwhelming to be honest, but it seems like a really nice community.
Hello everyone!
I am a 21-year old confused person from Germany trying to get better at art. I always used to have my phases where I would study and generelly draw a lot, but then again also long phases where I would maybe do nothing but a little sketch everyday.
I want to learn to stick to drawing as much as I can everyday so I can portrait exactly what I have in mind and maybe one day even do it as a job. I do study at some kind of design school that teaches everything ranging from fine arts to animation and graphic design. But I haven't really found my place there yet and I think that illustration comes a bit short. Here is some of what I've been doing for the past few years: http://schlusslicht.tumblr.com/
Anyway, I am really looking forward to becoming active in this forum, posting art and possibly helping people with what little knowledge I have :) I hope you all have a great day/evening!
Like many people here, i'm almost self-taught artist and hope one day to live from my art.
I'm a little bit confused, where to move next - i like to make environments, but i'm not sure that it's possible to be a concept artist on freelance, doing environment design job. Do you know people like that?
Also thinking about covers for books..
What to do next? Agencies? Publishing houses? Approve folio and sending mails to studio's art directors?
Hey there my name is Jared Calder, I'm 18 years old from Ontario, Canada.. I like to paint, draw, dance, read and sing but painting is my biggest passion. Hi everyone!
I'm Adam, age 20 from the UK, studying Illustration at Uni. I've known about this place for years but now I've got the balls to join :P
My main aims are
-To improve my skillset
-To help others who struggle where I have overcome those struggles
-To make friends! (and contacts ;)
Anyway here is a selection of my work, hope you like and will join with me on this journey. The Witcher one is a WIP and the others are finals :)
Look forward to talking with you all, I need a hand getting into these things :)
I'm wyrm, just a common scrub from Philly trying to get better at art.
I've been on DeviantArt for the past year or so, but I've been looking around for some other sites that could offer opportunities to grow as an artist.
I've never done anything 'huge' yet, other than some commissions here and there, but I hope to one day be able to make a living off of doing what I love. Preferably, I'd be a concept artist or illustrator for the video game industry. It's a far fetched goal, I know. But I can dream, right?
Anyway, I'm a complete n00b to this website and quite possibly the worst artist here. But that's the whole point, I guess. You've gotta start somewhere.
I could use some guidance, or a mentor, or even just a friend to help me out every now and again. I hear Crimson Daggers is a great place to learn and I don't want to give up on it because I don't know how it works
So, that's that. Here's some of my art. I'm trusting you all not to roast me.
Hi
my name is Ankit Yadav from india
i discovered this forum through dave rapoza and noah bradley.
i'm 21 i started drawing and painting seriously for almost 2 years ago
i don't have any art background, i am graduate in B.sc(unfortunately) so i am learning everything from scratch.
i used to work in a footwear industry almost a year ago but i left my job because i hated it.
and later i discovered concept art it just blew me away and i fell in love with this. i realized this is what i want to for the rest of my life.
In india thing are really hard if you want to be an artist or designer actually it is considered as the most
lowest profession.
society don't really Respect anything if you are less than an engineer or doctor
which make things really hard if you want to move forward.
there are not many art collages here
and the art students do everything accept making art
this year i applied for a design collage NID which is considered to be good
but failed in entrance test. the competition is cut-troth
like 50'000 candidates for only 15 seats so i failed terribly
and i want to move out from my country and attend Art center or FZD school but i don't have any money
but thanks to internet i am not hopeless
so these days all i do is sit in front of my computer screen and just draw
so here i am
my goal is to create a high quality concept art/design portfolio at the end of this year
which will help me to get some freelance jobs and get inside the industry.
looking forward to make good art buddies and share my journey with them. Improve and grow together
