Hey!
My name's Jun, I'm 19 and I'm from Asia.
The end.
..No.
I'm an aspiring artist who left programming to pursue his dreams (Yes, cliché) I picked up a pen a week ago and I'm putting in hours upon hours everyday to get better and learn more! It's a lot of fun. I think I might have found my "thing" after stumbling and bumping off of various things for better part of a year now.
A good friend of mine (and a great artist) told me about CD, and it was probably the thing I was looking for.
So, glad to meet you all, and let us all improve together and have fun!

Hi!
Im Luis Angel Payano, a 22 years old self-taught illustrator wannabe from Dominican Republic.
I made this account when i found out about the daggers through dave and dan's videos, at which point, i was trying to get a grip of the whole arting thing, struggled massively with drawing and painting, and didn't really know what i wanted to do with my art.
I continuously shied away from posting, and kept telling myself i would do so when felt i was "good enough"... only to realize about a year later that i was just running to the horizon, and still feel the same way.
In any case, after outrageous amounts of soul-searching and trying to get good on my own, i decided its about time i get involved in the community, so... yeah :)

Hi!
After lurking for a while I decided to create a new account. I say new because I use to have another account here called SpectreX but I'd like to start a fresh beginning.
Haven't drawn for a while until 2 weeks ago. It's mostly as a relaxation therapy kinda thing but I would love to one day do a comic cover or something :)
So, last time I quit drawing was because I did an intense study period but lost sight of the fun in drawing.
Hope this doesn't happen again. Though I do feel it's easier to draw due to those study periods.
Also I'm always afraid of messing up, mostly because of the large gap between skill and taste.
I'm afraid I'll mess up my sketchbook and have to throw the damn thing out. OCD or something :)
Not sure if I'm gonna start a sketchbook thread here.
I'm confident you guys & gals will give a lot of support, but it will add another layer of pressure I'm afraid. We'll see.
In the meantime I'll be hanging around here, enjoying the many sketchbooks of you all :)

I joined up on The Art Posse last week because watching Sam Peterson draw on his twitch stream inspired me. I got a hold of Constructive Anatomy, Norling's perspective book, and some animal drawing book published by Dover (it was 3 bucks, what the hell). I haven't touched a pencil or brush in years, but it's looking like I'll have a couple free months this summer to pound out some studies.
I haven't been getting a ton of critique over there, so I figured I'd throw some work up on both.
Also, kudos to Dave and the other guy on the CD convos--I've been crushing them since the weekend!
Stop by the dojo and throw me a crit, please: http://crimsondaggers.com/forum/thread-7513.html

Hi guys! So time to introduce myself.
My name is Marc, I'm 26 and I'm from Spain (so english is not my main language... trying to learn :P) I have a degree in psichology and I'm currently working with people with autism and special needs.
Drawing has been always my hobbie, even since I was a kid. But in the last months I have determined myself to take it seriously. I really want to take it to another level, being a professional (if this is possible). When I was at university I didn't draw too much, I didn't have an idea of what I want to do in life. I used to think that I was too old to start again and try to be an artist. But now I'm very convinced that I can do it. So I want to try to do myself a practice schedule and work hard. I've started to take digital art lessons once a week in my hometown with "Rafater", a great spanish ilustrator. Hope with time and dedication I will become better.
I came here through a Noah Bradley article, and I've been checking all your posts. I think it's a very nice place with a lot of resources and (most important) a lot of people in the same situation as me. Seems this is a great community with very nice and motivated artists!
Thank's for reading and sorry again for my bad english!!

Hello,
I'm 23yo guy from Poland and I really don't like introducing myself, especially in english, but let's try :D.
When I was a little kid I used to draw manga characters (I still have a weakness for manga a little bit) and this is when I fell in love with drawing and painting. For many years I didn't draw and paint anything, but old love has come back a couple weeks ago. :)
Recently I was more into old masters paintings and history of art than a concept and digital art world, but I'm catching up fast, I think. :] My favorite digital artist at the moment is Maciej Kuciara probably because I love cyberpunk themes and he have a lot of this kind of artworks (any cyberpunk heads here? x]).
I would say that I have that academic soul for technical aspects of making art, so I really enjoy learning theories and fundamentals, which I do right now. I heard that there are two types of painter - analytical type and intuitive type - and I'm definitely this first one :). So, I need you guys to kick butt of my right side of brain, but I have came here not only for seeking a critique and knowledge but mainly for an inspiration from your art, hard work and especially from your personalities, guys!
BTW sorry for my quite bad english, but I'm still learning in that field too. :]

hello, i decided i would try an art forum and ended up here thanks to noah bradley. I hope to attend his art camp once i have enough funds to pay for it
i've been drawing for 2 years digitally, but progress is slow and im really striving to improve faster. starting with a painting a day. I'm from australia, and my dream is to work at riot one day or really beautiful ips such as ori and the blind forest, or the final fantasy series, even though my current art doesn't reflect much of that. Hearing from atey ghelian, that he worked 12 hours a day for 2 years on art makes me realise just how behind i am but also how working in the industry is truly possible. Hopefully I can look back at this post in a few years and be proud of where I am.
thanks for reading my ramble! i am very open to constructive criticism if anyone is interested in my sketchbooks, which i will start posting soon

Hi there!
I was directed to this place by Amit, and have kept thinking about it for months... then he announced the Crimson Crucible and I thought, "Why not throw something in?" And so I did, because I'm one of those "leap before you look" kinda people, haha.
Anyway, you can call me Asa or Ara! I live in the U.S., in Florida. I've been studying art since middle school really, and I've taken a handful of community college art classes. I wanted to go to art school, but that dream was not to come. My parents both got really sick after I graduated high school and I kinda had to shift my focus from "getting the art dream" to "finding a way to support myself" in case the unspeakable happened.
Anyway, I just graduated university with a degree in English Lit, and I do instructional design at a little company for the moment. Right now I'm using the day job to save up all my money, and also so I can focus on some personal projects I've wanted to do for years. Namely a webcomic and learning animation!
I run a little group on DeviantArt devoted to learning animation: http://learnanimation.deviantart.com/
I write dumb stories too. My animations and my comics kinda surround the books I write.
Anyway, I'll stop talking now! Back to that challenge :)
