i'm new to the forum, just registered today actually! i've been doing digital painting for maybe five or six years, i dont feel like i've made enough progress for how long i've been painting, which is why i'm here! i'll be posting in the critique section soon enough, hope to get in touch with some of yous soon!

it took me a bit to muster up the courage to post. to establish a sketchbook first or to not establish a sketchbook first? kind of terrified seeing all these amazing artists say they're not that good. if y'all aren't amazing, then what does that make me? haha

i'm rosie, an incoming junior in high school with ambitious plans and frequently, not enough motivation. i've been doodling, drawing, painting, whatever for as long as i could remember. for these last two years of my high school career, i will be focusing on developing my portfolio for the college board's ap studio art 2d design exam with a little extra for a college portfolio. perhaps i'll even stick around for college and beyond!

regarding the aforementioned sketchbook, i have multiple. i specialize in crappy scribbly doodles with to do lists, homework, and etc. written all over. aka the true reason i decided to write this first im scared to show my work because i haven't quite found myself yet. i've made things, but i don't quite feel myself in them yet if that makes sense.

my goals : find myself. improve. help others improve. make friends.

Hey there everyone! Name's Rana, I'm a Graphic Design student from Giza, Egypt.

Art has been a pretty important thing for me since I was a tiny kid. I've been drawing since I was 6 I think. I stopped for about 5 years during my teens, then got back into it while graduating high school. My goal is to become an illustrator and a concept artist hopefully in a video game studio. 

Still I have a long way to go, so I'm here to get my butt into gear and work hard to hone my skills.

I art, not very well, but I'm learning. I hail from the bottom of the world where it is currently winter *brrrr* and I don't know if I belong here because everyone is so good and all the youtubers I look up to talk about this place like the ultimate repository of brilliant artists.

Hi, I'm Rasshu. I used to draw about 2 years ago and I was working on the fundamentals at the time but then I had to go back to school because I could see that I was having trouble with keeping up with the deadlines when it came to commissions, and I wasn't confident in my anatomy knowledge, everything was just getting too stressful. I needed a solid ground to stand on at the time so I wouldn't stress about bills and deadlines.

It's been 2 years since then and I've moved on to a different course from that time. I've learnt within that 1 year what I really want to do in life and that's art, but I've also learnt about my limitations and what I can manage. I know I wont get any commissions straight away (as is normal for all new artists) which will end up stressing me out and putting too much pressure on me again, that's why I'm taking a Psychology course (since I have an interest in it)  so I can still get a stable job to pay the bills while I work on the fundamentals and learn what I need to learn.

I really want to make it as an illustration artist, that's why I'm here to surround myself with other artists who can critique me. I want to gain more knowledge and confidence in art and I hope I can do that here. I look forward to meeting you all soon :)

Hi Everyone. I'm a 31 year old designer who always liked comic books and wants to improve my artwork any way I can.

I originally went to design school because I wanted to be a comic artist, and I figured learning design would get me a technical background and help develop my skillset. Over the course of going to school, I decided to pursue design instead of drawing and took a break from art for about 7 years. I got back into drawing again about 2 years ago and started a webcomic about pieces of food that try to murder each other.

After working on Ration Riot for a bit, I figured out that I have a lot to learn and decided to take a break from it and work on fundamentals. I'm currently trying to push my artwork into a realistic realm.
