  Hello

Hello,

My name is Fabrice, I live in France (my english is not totally perfect, sorry :) ) and I've started to learn to draw about 4 years ago.

At the beginning it was just for fun and relax but quickly I became an addict of drawing. I have not real professionnal goals because I'm not really young, I'm 40 but I'd like to do some illustrations.

I actually have real difficulties to continue my learning of drawing. I've restarted to the fundamentals 2 or 3 months ago trying to improve my drawings.

I only can draw about 3hours a day the evening but I try to draw everyday.

I think I'm a little lost on what I can do for improve my drawings and I hope I'll find some advices here.

Have a nice day :)

Hello everyone, this is my first art community experience! I'm 19 years old and I've been drawing on and off for about 3 years, but I've decided I want to try to pursue a career in Concept Art. I've realized that I'm nowhere near where I want to be (major understatement) and I realized I've been trying to learn in a bubble. I'm excited to learn and grow with you all! :)

Hello everyone, I'm Luka and am currently working to try and go full-time as an illustrator. I was a little too young to be around during the CA days but that environment sounded really nice from what I've seen others say. I'm going to try to update my sketchbook fairly often as a sort of accountability thing. So hopefully you see more of me around lol

Hi, I'm Jerry and I'm new here, but I was a long-time lurker at Conceptart when it was still alive, but was too shy or afraid to post any of my works there because I thought I wasn't good enough.

Anyway, I'm excited to be here because I've now come to that point when I've finally decided that I will bite the bullet and post art here so it can be critiqued by others. It's time that my skills level up and improve, and I believe this forum will be a big help in making that happen.

Hey everyone,

My name's Jeremy, I'm a 32 year-old graphic designer and illustrator. I really want to get back to basics though in painting and push my work more toward concept art and fantasy illustration style. I started out twelve years ago on the conceptart. org forums and spent a short time on the Crimson Daggers forums back when the Bloodsports challenges were a thing.

I miss the type of community that we used to have with that, facebook just isn't the same. I figured I'd try to start posting on here to kind of get back to that. I look forward to seeing everyone else's work and offering any feedback I can on a regular basis, and I look forward to everyone's feedback on my own sketches!

Let's push ourselves to the next level.

Finding this site has been like slipping on a old glove. It has been 20 years since my CA days and this site has scratched an itch i did not know was there until i stumbled upon it. A story similar to many others that have found their way to this site, and i am very happy to be among like-minded artists again.

I very much enjoyed participating in CA character and creature design challenges as well as seeing all other artist progressions through their sketchbooks, but most of all it was the supportive non-toxic environment that i have missed. Getting and giving critique and feedback is such an asset in development.

As a full time engineer and father of 2 little ones finding time for art has become increasingly tricky but i still manage to carve out time to keep the fire burning. For the most part my art is just for me, besides writing and illustrating a few children’s books, entering in art competitions ( being selected for 2 Talenthouse competitions was a nice bonus) and a few commissions  I basically draw and create what ever pops into my head which keeps things fun. I remain a humble amateur with a continuous desire to improve with every piece i create.

My most admitted weakness has always been in coloring and have always been ,more comfortable in B/W, so i have geared up to make it a strength if possible and i hope to create a sketchbook that follows this journey.

I look forward to being a part of this community and getting to interact with you all! Cheers!

  Hey there!

Hi everyone, I'm Ciprian but you can call me Cip.

I come back to drawing after a very long hiatus. I attended the art uni in my city back in 2015/2016 but had to drop out due to lack of funding. At about the same time I used to lurk on the Permanoobs forums where I had a sketchbook and posted my daily scribbles. When I had to drop out of school got into a bit of depressive state and quit drawing almost completely. I did some scribbles here and there (which I posted on my Instagram account), but even that halted about 2 years ago, with just one or two posts in 2020. Meanwhile I had also some changes in my life, switched a few jobs but now things are a bit more stable and I thought about rebooting my art adventure after so long, for no real purpose than to enjoy myself. In the past I would be very self critical and also impatient with my progress and often quit out of exasperation with my own lack of improvement.

Now that things are a bit more quiet and I'm a bit more mature I guess I want to give this another go, this time with no artificial pressure other than to improve and to enjoy myself in the process. I let go the "art persona" BS ego which had caused me so much mental issues and decided to just enjoy the ride. I'm now more than content to work a menial job and look up to my drawing time when I have time to spare, and I've come to terms with not even being considered "an artist" anymore. Life is to short to drive yourself crazy with arbitrary goals, it's better to just have fun with doing what you love and that's rewarding enough for me atm.

Anyway, I don't want to get too sappy, I'm just glad that I have found an alternative to PN and I hope to see you guys around! Check my Instagram to have an idea of what I was doing back then and I will start a sketchbook page to post my current explorations.

Ok, see ya soon!

So excited to find this site, I’ve heard so many good things about conceptart.com during the good ol days and I’m hyped to find such a nice community here! I’m a 21yo student from the US studying concept art and comics in hopes of landing a job in environment design. I spend a lot of my free time drawing characters from the Dungeons & Dragons campaigns I’ve been in along with painting studies, which I’ll post in my sketchbook thread at some point. Feel free to call my by my username or Mor :))
Can’t wait to develop my skills along with y’all!
