Your image studies have been coming out almost on point urs :D the only thing I would say is be a little more liberal with the hard brush. your edges are a tad soft besides that i love em

@Toodles: Thanks man. Yeah, I had this feedback mu edges were too hard, and I am trying to find balance, but I just feel like I am failing left and right haha

Failed pretty badly today. I am torn - I hate the lasso tool, but I don't think I will ever do this work without it.

Still tried to keep tone accuracy though.

Ah, I recognize that photo. :)

Nice job. It looks bright and a tad sinister in your version.

hey ursula,
it is a great idea to study pictures of other artists, i don't do it enough though. yours are really cool and the only thing i can say has been said: maybe try some harder brushes, maybe even work only with hard brushes on a study and see what it does for you.
other than that, you are amazing.

Please help me getting better by checking out my sketchbook

@Pearwood: Thanks :D I'll abuse your photos again if you don't mind!

@Flo: Thanks! But I will still trying some softer edges for a while. I do use hard brushes (just check my portfolio), and I received this intriguing feedback about edges on the imaginism workshop - that my edges were too hard, and that's why my paintings are jelly like. So I'll try to get used to the soft edges a bit more, and if it doesnt work out, I'll go back to hard edges.

The soft edges work very well here, adding to the dreamy feel.

Incredible enviro studies you've been pumping out! I've been neglecting my favorite sketchbooks. Crazy cool stuff!
