Wow, so much skill here!

My goal is to someday illustrate book covers, but I first really need to learn the basics, like anatomy, lighting, perspective, etc. So this year is anatomy.

I'm sketching my way through Loomis's "Figure drawing for all it's worth," plus whatever types of books Loomis recommends.

Is there anywhere around here where people are working on figures/people/anatomy drawing?

I'm new (Obviously) here and have been directed here by the Awesome Robbie Trevino.

Im 35 and having been away from art for a f*%$king long time I'm returning. I was drawing and ashamed of my stuff a long, long time ago and never showed it (Old mech pencil on cheap drawing books) and my family did their best to shame me away from Art as it seems to be a dirty word. Not to mention art did not really exist here in Aus till recently Seeing as I am old and stupid, I have ignored their crap and I'm trying again now and my abilities are severely impaired as a consequence.

My biggest issue is getting b/w sketches on paper into Photoshop format and colouring it. I've been working n colour for at most, 1.5 years.I need help but i dont need people to destroy me where they see weakness. So I'm gonna need help. No "help" from those simply seeking a target to destroy in the guise of helpful critique-

My name is Tamires and I`m a graphic design from Brazil currently studying in Gainesville, Florida, on a scholarship. My dream is to become a concept artist and live through my art, so here I am, struggling to improve and seeking other good fellows to embrace the same journey with.

It`s been almost 3 years since I started drawing with a tablet, and I can say it wasn`t easy (nor it`s been), but hey, I`m having fun, so that`s what`s most important. I'm sure no one remembers, but I actually used to post in the daggers thread on CA.org back in the day when it first started (under the name lowkey)! I stopped when I moved to a different country and got a job totally unrelated to art. Now I'm back in to art and really regretting dropping out of the online art community. :( I'm just trying to get in to freelance professionally now and I am terrified and alone. I'm a bit late for the bloodsports but will definitely be entering the next one.

I live and teach English in Korea. I really want to illustrate full time someday but I'm still working on that part.
I get up at 5 every morning just to get some illustrating in and try to do as much as I can on the weekends.
I'm married, so its not like I have all the time in the world as I would have liked to have.
But I do as much as I can with the time I have at the moment, firstly I want to improve my Digital painting skills and then when I feel I am up to par with the best, then I would do projects to get specific jobs and hopefully everything goes well from there.

I want to work for wizards of the coast, blizz, lol, anywhere that involves fantasy and magic, maybe even scifi. I am also interested in children's book illustration and book covers and stuff like that as well and wouldn't mind concept art, I still have a shit ton of work to do but I'm willing to suck for a long time to get good and do the work. Hope I can contribute! Cheers!

Hi there I'm Michael.

I draw a lot but never get very intensely focused, so really I just putter around making half-assed sketches rather than satisfying, finished pieces. This is what I'm trying to change.
I used to go to CA a lot, but it seems to be winding down there. I remembered the enthusiasm of Crimson Daggers people at CA and decided to come here. I'm hoping for a similar experience of art critique/resources.

Just a little bird from texas (and the late CA)! I enjoy drawing and will be making a few careers out of it. My main focuses are the animation industry and comics. I have a tons of stories that come to me and I tend to get hooked on drawing them! Would like to meet new peeps that are also on this path! Maybe eventually hang out in artist alley together!

hi all i've had a wacom tablet a while now and really need to start using it more, i used to love drawing and painting when i was younger, but over the years have done less & less off it. I'm trying to start my own graphic design business and build websites and logos in my spare time while juggling with 2 others jobs.

I would love to do my freelance work full time so i can drop my 2 crapy jobs.
The painting and drawing for now i just want to do for my self, to relax/hobby.

At the moment i can only really fit in 1 hour a day, with my 2 jobs, freelance work and trying to go to gym. I need to start doing some study's as i just doodle and never really do anyting and get disappointed with the results.

where should i start?
