Hi all. My name is Tami and I am joining these forums to get better at art. I'm always liked drawing, but I've never put in a lot of effort into getting better so the past few years I don't think I've really improved much. I'm going to change that! I think part of the reason I've never actively participated in a forum such as this is because it felt that I would be exposing myself and my art, and that type of vulnerability is a bit out of my comfort zone. However, you cannot achieve growth without constantly moving past your comfort zone! Knowing this, I'm going to really push myself in drawing and participate in the forums so I can learn. I know I am nowhere near pro level, but with time and practice I know I can get better than what I am currently. Thanks for reading.

My name is James, I'm 21 and as far back as I can remember I've had a decent artistic ability. But my regret is that I never really took drawing and painting seriously until fairly recently. I never really practiced, but I never struggled with drawing or painting. I finally realized that I want to become a Concept artist for games, and I now practice drawing and or digital painting everyday. which I've been doing for the past 2 maybe 3 months, and I'm seeing a lot of improvement.
I also forgot to mention I'm at university studying Computer Game Art, I've almost finished my foundation year. I was recommended this site by a fellow artist on my course. in about 3 years I'm wanting to have a decent portfolio prepared to show a concept artist who works at the game company Sumo Digital, who I met through voluntary work I did for them.
I'll try to post my art regularly as I'm wanting lots of advice so I can improve a lot.

Hey :3 As the title says, I've joined Crimson Daggers in my quest for new artistic knowledge, to have my work [honestly, bitterly] critiqued, and to chat with other artists. This site was recommended to me by shadow-wolf on DA, and so here I am. Funny how that works xD
I'm also on deviantart and mweor by the same name, those are the only online places I'm really active right now.
Some WIP stuff I've done lately, for lack of anything decent to show. Drag to address bar for full size.

These are commissions or pre-make characters I've been wanting to sell. They're cliche, childish, and won't get me much respect as an artist. Basically what the community on a site like mweor is looking for. I sincerely hope I can do better some day, and though these aren't much to show, doing characters has taught me a lot about color coordination, distinct characteristics, etc. BUT I WANT TO DO BETTER.
I use SAI, a Bamboo Touch, and your average mechanical pencils and sketchbook from the nearest Wal-Mart. I've been seriously into art since I was perhaps 7, and started studying art when I was about, um, 12. Took a lot of ego-bashing to admit I needed tutorials and such, always figured I was the bestest artist in the whole wide world. NOPE.
Now I'm on the search for good art books, lessons, and online resources. I don't have any art classes available to me [though I'm always looking] so I figure I can learn all I can from books before college and then go deeper at that time. Though it all looks pretty ugly now, I'm actually way better than I was even six months ago. Always, constantly learning and seeking.
Hope I didn't screw up this whole introduction thing. See you guys around, thanks for stopping by? xD

Hello Crimson Daggers!
I've been into drawing for most of my life, but only recently made up my mind to make art my prime concern. From the beginning, i realized that i'm no good at all, but that i can improve immensely through effort. Yes, i want to be a professional, but most importantly, i want to improve as an artist and as a person by dedicating myself hardcore to this thing i love doing.
By the end of the day, i want to know that i gave my all, and i hope this community can help me drive my efforts. I know it's gonna be tough anyway, but it's tougher being alone, right?

Hello guys! I'm Caique Pituba from Brazil, 18, and aspiring to be a professional Illustrator. Today, i'm on a really weird time of my life, where my family totally disapproves following this career, and well, i'm on the 3rd semester of the ACCOUNTING COLLEGE.
I always loved art and illustration, and was drawing all the time, but in high school i was under so much pressure and stuff, that i decided to join at accounting college - mostly worried about $afety. Well, now i totally regret that, but i'm really affraid of my family's reaction if i quit, so i can totally focus on illustration and even an art degree.
Well, it's been 1 year since i'm really focused on refining my skills and on illustration career, but it's quite hard to do it when you're splitting your time with those too completely opposite things!
So this is basically who i am today! I'm sure i'll learn a lot from you guys!
Greetings form Brazil! :)

Howdy!
Brent Hollowell pointed me to this forum, and I decided to join up.
Like the thread title says, I'm a concept artist. I tend to work mostly digital on an Intuos 4 and Photoshop. I also like to draw in pencils and paint with ink. I'll be lurking after this post for a bit to get the lay of the boards; figure out where to post WIP and get/give crits. I look forward to getting to know yall.
