So I've actually known about this place for a while now, and I've been an inactive member for some time as well, but I've finally gained the courage enough to introduce myself.

My name is Zachary, I'm 21, and I've only been working with digital art for a little over a year now. I really want to become a freelance illustrator. It's been a goal of mine for the last year, but I only started taking it seriously about a month ago. I figure this is the next step. This community is full of hard working individuals and it's inspiring to say the least.

Thanks!

Hello, my name is Maria but everyone calls me kitten. I'm still a high school student but I send as much time as I can trying to improve my art. I wish someday to be able to become an architect or a concept artist/designer in the entertainment industry. I'm really chill and I truly appreciate critiques so if something looks off, please let me know, I have thick skin and am trying to learn so any help would be greatly appreciated.

I´m Lars, 25 years old. Big fan of drawing, painting, mixed martial arts, good music, coffee and good beer, and bacon.

Finally got the courage to sign up to this place.
It seems like this place is where the hard-working cool people from conceptart.org migrated to.
I really like the atmosphere of this forum, where there´s focus on improvement and hard work. :)

Anyway, nice to meet you, Crimson Daggers!

Hi everybody,

I'm aiming to make the transition from the world of studio production to that of freelance illustration and concept art. Love the whole idea of this place.

  Hi there
Posted by: Roberto_Z - 04-19-2013, 03:09 PM - Forum: INTRODUCE YOURSELF - Replies (1)

Hi my name is Roberto Zepeda, I live in Mexico city and I'm 33 years old.

Since I finished my studies of graphic design I just want to get into the sci-fi and fantasy illustration world. I am a Huge fan of Frank Frazetta, Boris Vallejo, HR Giger, Brom and Luis Royo. I admire the new digital masters as Darkeen, Dave Rapoza, Justin Sweet, JP Target and I just want to become as good as them.

I've studied traditional oil painting and In some cases I find easier to work in that media than working on a PC, but I recently purchased a CINTIQ 12WX and I'm very excited.

Of course the tools are important, but more important than that is the knowledge and hard work. Wheather you use a charcoal pencil or a Cintiq 24 HD, the principals and main concepts are all the same.

In a couple of days I will post my latest digital illustration and I ASK for your CRITIQUES AND COMMENTS. I think that every professional must listen carefully to other people's comments... it's like eating vegetables..... They are not so funny as an icecream but.... they are necessary.

Wel thanks for reading this and.... LET'S THE HAND BLEEDING BEGIIIIIIIIIIIN

Hey guys,
Stumbled on crimson daggers after reading a post from ctrl paint who spoked about Dave Rapoza's livestream. Lurked about an hour or so on crimson daggers, loved it, seems that there's a great community here. Love the spirit building up here.

So a few words about me: I am 27, from south of france, have been into comics and movies since more or less the age of four, I've made a couple art schools, some on drawing and comic books, others on movies (film editing), but I believe I'm the kind of person who just rather likes self-teaching and finding good individual teachers...

I dig drawing, painting (even if I suck at that, came here to improve!), storyboarding, comic-books/graphic novels, concept art, illustration, and filmmaking and movie editing. Am also having a shot a zbrush these days... Basically, telling a story with images.

Clumsy as I am, I don't have an online portfolio right now, (have a cghub account with like 4 drawings in it), so I'll make a new post asap in the request critique section with some stuff..
Hope I'll be able to keep up, there seems to be a hell lot of skilled persons here!Shock

Cheers.

Hey guys, I've been lurking for a while and decided it's time to join the community more actively.
In hindsight, I probably should have started long ago, but it's better late than never. Hope to see everyone in the industry someday. Here are some of my work. Cheers!

My name is Aaron and i'm 15 and I am currently enrolled in my commercial art 2 class at school. I am extremely serious about my art and love very harsh feedback, I find its the best way to learn and having sugar coated critiques is useless. I want you to be straightforward on whats wrong so I can improve and to further my career. I got accepted into a summer pre-college program in Ringling for 4 weeks which I cannot wait for. 4 weeks in an art college setting is going to be a lot of work and enjoyable. I plan on going to Ringling college of Art and Design once I graduate and I will be majoring in game art and design. I love video games, just finished Dead Space 3 and Bioshock Infinite, and I play DayZ and LoL a lot, but I'm trying to cut back to further my studies. I would love to have a art buddy that we can help improve each others work on, I'm really down to earth and get along with pretty much everyone that is serious about their career/future. I also plan on reguarly updating my portfolio on here, though I work mainly digital. Thank you!

-Aaron
