  Introducing Me
Posted by: JJLeonardArt - 09-04-2012, 04:35 AM - Forum: INTRODUCE YOURSELF - Replies (2)

Just want to say a friendly hi to the Crimson Daggers community, which I have been anonymously following for a while after being refered to it by Brent Hollowell (thanks for that), but I've only just gained the time to commit to contirbuting a bit.

So here I am, name's Jos, I'm a young rook living in the UK looking for crits and trying to find ways to improve before I have to make any life changing descisions.

I like drawing creepy things, crawly things, slimey things, floaty things and badass shit.

I'll be making a sketchbook and putting my stuff in it, I'm thirsty for constructive crits and will most likely overzealously thank anyone kind enough to drop by and creep them out.

TL-DR? Me Jos. Want Crits. Me draw generic fantasy stuff. Hi.

I will be posting soon in the sketchbook's section.

Hi from Belgium,

A month ago I started to draw again, but now seriously.
I used to draw a lot as kid, yes I'm old, let say 36
Then i just draw what I saw, and it was good at that moment.
But my perspective, volume ,... could be much better.

I always wanted too but because of the lack of time, kids and other excuses.
So i finally started again.
And I try to study a lot, and the more I study...the more i realize I need to study more.
I've been watching some live streams from members of Crimson and learned a lot of the techniques.

My interests are...many
Landscapes (with castles or sci fy)
Fantasy,scify and horror
Conceptual art (is this right?)
Impressive architecture

I think this forum has some friendly members who help noobs like me, and maybe i can help others in the future.

My English is not that good witch result that i sometimes have problems express myself in the right way.
I understand it very good but when i need to right down something it's sometimes a failure.

Thank you for your time reading this.

greetings

Warre

Hi everyone,
My name is Markus and I was first introduced to this place through people at CA.org and later by following the streams of John Silva, James Zapata and Cristian Chihaia. I'm an aspiring artist with the hopes of working in the creative industry at some point but I need to do some hardcore learning if I wish to succeed.
My previous work can be found here.

Now that the formal stuff is out of the way, looking forward to be a part of this community!

Imskeptical tried to get me into art along with him and showed me this place 8 months ago. He drew and painted a bunch. I bought a tablet then played videogames.
I'm here now because I feel Selina Kyle - "Sorry to keep dissapointing you" - for not being the dude to study with him and also a little jelly. (Hi dude)

I'd like the ability to describe thought through image, competently. If this ability translates into a career that might be excellent too.

I'm exceedingly lazy and supremely autismal. Currently training diligence, unsure if aspergers can be fixed.

Also eating oats, doing squats and generally getting massively swole (bro). I dislike books and hate movies. FUCK anime. The "steampunk" aesthetic too.
Sci-fi's ok though - cool guy.

That's it.

Hello Crimson Daggers,

I'm Ryan, 19. I'm from Paris (France).

I'm not used to be on forums, but I found this one by hearing many Crimson Daggers interviews on YouTube.
That's cool, this community is full of good people.

I've been drawing "seriously" since November 2011 (I was in high school). Now this new school year, I'm in an art/design school in Paris.
I want to be concept designer, achieving this with what I can do.

I'm learning, and try to understand those basics in traditional to improve my digital productions.
But I never grabbed a real brush, neither painted on a "toile" (canvas). This is going to be a long way.

I signed up here to kind of "discover myself" with other artists/designers (this sounds odd haha :) ).

And voilà, idk what to say... I like sports, fashion, cars, geek stuff, my longtime favourite superhero is Batman (how original).
I'm proud to be a member of Crimson Daggers.

Here's my DeviantArt: eleze.deviantart.com

See you starside colleagues.

Ryan.

  Hello!

Hello everyone!

My Name is Aaron Griffin, 21 years of age, living in the UK and aspire to be a better digital artist. I have known about the Crimson Daggers for a while but it was not until recently that i have gotten to know any of its members and what this group is about. They were so welcoming and supporting... to be a part of this community would be an absolute pleasure.

Having so many artists around me in such a similar situation is very encouraging. I hold a dream of working as a professional artist and having a group of people such as this is incredibly helpful and motivating.

So thank you to everyone already that has been so friendly!

:)

been drawing for a bit but still trying to discipline myself in art, if it wasn't for the net i wouldn't even know how far i could reach with just pencil and paper.

I'm 24 years and I live on a small island called St.Lucia.

It was a client who actually got me interested seriously to pursue illustration, he saw some of my drawings and had me do an add on a brochure displayer. Drew it up , scanned, digitally inked and coloured it.That was the first time I saw the real beauty of my work instead of seeing it on the pc it was on something i could touch and the response from different people seeing it just made me feel good.

But the thing was, it was really difficult for me to do an illustration for myself so bit by bit i'm still studying and drawing sometimes i think i get afraid, kinda stupid feeling but that messes my whole plan.

Need to sleep better though, healthy body is definitely a healthy mind.

some of my stuff http://rapxic.deviantart.com/

looking to buy 2 fresh sketch books cuz i don't like the drawings i did on the others i have, should have used the pile of plain paper i have.

And i got to know about the website on youtube and saw the link, i actually learn alot in the critique videos, i find these 2 guys explain stuff real easy and they're demonstrating it at the same time kind of like demonstrating concept art.

glad i can be part of the community, hope you guys enjoy my stay.
