Howdy, dear people from the crimson daggers-boards!
My name is Mike, I´m 22 (recently had birthday, which is why i try not to get toooo worked up about already being 22 >_<) and i live in Austria! Over the past 2 years I´ve been studying rights at a University in Vienna(though i hate it and just started it, as my parents urged me to. i´ve been fooling myself, as drawing is actually the only thing i can genuinly enjoy in life )
I´ve always been into art( I used to be a huge manga-fan, as an artist called Ogure Ito once inspired me to pick up a pen and just try to find out, where it might take me, though i kinda got lost on track), but never enough to actually strife for some higher planes of artistic skills. Though i feel bad about this by now, i recently (May´11) stumbled upon an artist named Xia Taptara who got me genuinly interested in digital arts by his natural flow of working and creating inspiring pieces. Starting from that point on, I found myself scribbling and doodling much more regularly, while also scavenging through the intrawebs in search of more inspiration to keep myself motivated. Somewhere around that point i found out about studios such as sixmorevodka and massive black and came to know the works of other digital artists through sites lke cghub.com (where I´m still just lurking, as I´m not that confident yet to post something). >_<

I found out about this site while browsing through deviantart, and decided I wanted to be part of a serious group of artists for once to broaden my knowledge and improve myself not only as an artist, but also as a human being, striving after the same dreams together with other art-inspired people!

My aim is to become an awesome game-artist one day and reach my personal limit of artistic expression and overcome it. :< I want to feel more alive than before and share this experience with you from now on!

ps: i´d like to leave a link to me deviantart-gallery, so you can get yourself a picture where i stand now :D http://d3athb3rrymon.deviantart.com/

Hello everyone,

I'm Prospass, I'm french, I'm 22, and I'm tired of sucking at drawing!
This forum seems to be a good place to start getting better.
I've been following Crimson Daggers since awhile now, and I finally decided to get involved when a friend urged me to enter the Bloodsport #06.

So here I am! Let's get to work,

Lots of love,

Prospass

I still feel creative and want to do art so i said get back to painting and drawing. Well I just started painting again after 30 years (48 years old)of not doing it i am picking up on it and hope to get into a few of the competitions you have here to hone my skills and humble myself.

Music Turd in the punchbowl?
Posted by: Joe Willy - 02-20-2012, 11:07 AM - Forum: INTRODUCE YOURSELF - No Replies

Greetings. I've checked out Dave's blog but never really got involved with the live streams. However, I just found one of his paintover critique videos on YouTube and it's the kind of thing I could really learn from. I've never really found a community online to join but lately I find I really could use some feedback, guidance, advice, confidence, etc. So, I guess I'm checking out who's here and putting my stuff out there which is something I don't do enough of.

I spent most of my life wanting to do comics but never really done many outside of a couple short stories. I haven't done much with my art besides work a crappy graphic design job at a local printing company. Lately I find myself wanting to get into concept art and more creative work since I have tons of ideas and love to brainstorm. I've really been pushing myself to get better at digital painting- especially color, lighting and composition. I dropped out of art school and let my skills get a little rusty and I've just gotten stagnant and bored but it's still calling to me.

Here's my blog if you want to check out my art.

I'm also on DA

Hello there!

I'm Tori, (real name is Korinna) and I come from Greece!
I am a first-year student studying illustration in London.
I joined this site hoping to further develop my drawing skills and build up confidence in using digital software. My aim at the moment is to become skilled enough to find a decent job, (not very ambitious, I know) but being an aspiring artist from Greece doesn't leave you with much choice in this economy...
Putting politics aside, I'd love to work as a concept artist and/or comic artist in the future!

Here is some of my mediocre work: http://korinna-mei.tumblr.com/

Hey guys, glad to be here.

Sup fellas, so here's a quick rundown.

I found the Daggers through a link somewhere on Conceptart.org, i've been a member there for a little under a year now. I knew about Dave Rapoza before hand though. I'm a college student right now, going through graphics and interactive design. I have some experience as an amateur writer, though not a whole lot. There is a tiny bit of art knowledge in me, i started doodling a little bit in my last two years of Highschool. That was mainly just Anime Fanart and tracing though, nothing really worth mentioning.

Just over a year ago, i didn't really think of art as something i'd ever try to pursue professionally. Especially with all the people younger than me, who are already leaps and bounds ahead. That changed right around the time i found Conceptart.org. That subsequently led to opening the Pandora's Box of crazy artists. Marko Djurovski, Bruno Gore and Zhang Lu to name a few. Instead of intimidating me away from ever thinking about getting serious with art, it really inspired me to pick up a pencil. Having basically no real grasp on art, i basically started from square one.

I've been snorting studies like crack since then. I Carry around a doodle pad with me outside, try to draw people and things where ever i can. I have Loomis, Bridgman, Hogarth and Michael Hampton on my book belt right now. I've been trying to avoid fan art for the most part. When i'm not doing a study i try to draw things from imagination, normally something relevant to something i recently studied.

I look forward to participating in Dagger activities, hopefully i can suck less.

Hey! I'm James McDonald and I work as an illustrator/concept artist for a mobile games studio. I've been following the Crimson Daggers for awhile now, so hopefully I can be more active in the community :D (I've been a total lurker. . .)
