Hello everyone! I am excited to be a part of this community. I have been following dave and dan for a while now and finally decided to join. My name is Dustin, or Sketch as is my username. I am an artist currently in san diego. I hope to meet many people on here and grow with the community.

Not the greatest of artists but with perseverance, studying, practice and a little magic, I aim to flourish my artistic ability into something I can be proud of and enjoy for a living. My goal is to understand various art concepts, techniques, and develop my own artistic identity, but, the thing is, I don't know where to began and I am hoping Crimson Dagger community can aid me in that journey.

All my life I've been drawing with informal education and even then my drawings are not that great. I took a long break after HS from drawing, and after some soul searching, I've found out that in my life, even if I'm not good at it, art, is what I enjoy, but I feel as if I am not naturally talented enough to pursue it as a career. Even if I do, I'd like to know what options there are in the field of Art, so if anyone can shed some insight on that that would be great too. I'm scared to pursue it and spend a large amount of money on schooling for something I am not naturally good at, or great at. I feel as if, I struggle on creating unique ideas out of my head, I have no formal sense of texture, anatomy, angles, texture or color, or how something should look etc, I am hoping the community here can suggest some exercises, books, etc to help me improve.

I am taking a Gesture Drawing, course next semester, so this month I am going to spend educating myself and improving (if that's possible),

Hi. My name is Victoria Dao. I'm almost done with college. I took the wrong path during my 5 years of college. It took me that long to figure out what I really wanted to do with my life. I knew I wanted to become an artist, but I had no clue where I was heading to. I went into graphic communication, but finally decided to switch major. I decided this isn't the type of field I wanted. I'm still unsure what I want to become, but I know I want to draw. I have so many personal project I want to create from illustration to animation even a graphic novel, so this is probably heading toward a freelancer type of job. I want to practice, so I can actually create them and figure out what kind of artist I am. I'm already participating in deviantART group to practice art, but hopefully with Crimson Daggers, it will motivate me twice as much.

I've followed this site for a little bit, first heard about it through the crimson conversations videos on youtube. I started teaching myself how to draw about a year ago so I am still pretty terrible at it. I have a wacom but am working on my fundamental skills with pencils for awhile first. Some of my favorite artists are: Frazetta, Brom, Bisley, Giger, Kovacs, Bonner, Komarck, and much more. I am a big fan of comics, magic the gathering, and heavy metal. Some of my favorite bands are Type o Negative, Bathory, Death Angel, I listen to a lot of old school thrash and black metal. Also a huge movie buff but I dont want to make this too long. I am 25 years old, was laid off from my job, and have been living in my apartment as a recluse trying to get better at drawing. I have several books on every subject that I try to study. My goal is to get into illustration but I dont know how long it will take me, right now I live in Vegas but I am moving in with my friend in Seattle she is willing to help me out so I can work on my art, because my family has had enough, lol. I will start posting my work on here when I can, just wanted to introduce myself.

Hello everyone :) finally decided to start posting here. My name is Aaron, I'm eighteen and have been drawing seriously for about 8 months now alongside school. Now that I'm done with school I am going balls out with art and am giving the next year to studying everyday (that is if my parents don't kick my out in the meantime. They really want me to go to college and it's hard to explain that art is something serious and that I can motivate myself to practice everyday and actually go somewhere with it).

I'll pull together everything I've done recently and start my sketchbook later today, I will post very regularly, see you there :)

hello there! my name is stradlater, but you may also call me fox. i highly enjoy drawing/painting, always have, just never was serious about it for long enough to get anywhere. my goal is to in 2 years go to art school for fine arts, or graphic design and just traditional art as a hobby. we'll see. i'm originally from the US, but currently live in poland (and i hate the cold). don't really know what else to say... hmm... i'm sort of insane. you'll see what i mean.

I wish that one day I'll be able to produce great content and get the chance to work at awesome projects with crazy talented people. Right now I'm just a beginner who is trying to chase his dreams, maybe I'm too old, i thought a lot about this, that is too late, but I don't want to give up, I'm finally doing what i really like, and who knows what will happen in 5 to 10 years from now.

Hello, name's Wison Hendrik. A self taught artist. After 3 years, work as digital painter on my local company which run on casual games, I just felt love of art. I wanted to push myself hard to become what I wanted. So by joining this community, I will dedicated self for practicing and also learn something from others.
