When I was a kid, I drew all the time--in the car, at home, at school, everywhere. Then at some point in high school I started becoming very frustrated with the fact that my drawings didn't match my imagination, and impatient with the amount of time it took to complete an artwork. And so, for the past ten years I have barely picked up a pencil.

Now I'm a graduate student in the sciences, and I'm finding that I really can't think as well (about anything!) if I don't balance out my technical studies with the arts. So, I've decided to get back into visual art again and see where it takes me. I love art that tells stories, so I am most interested in concept art and illustration. Hopefully, I can come up with some projects that meld art with science--and build a new skillset that may open up additional career options for me.

As of joining this site, I've logged seven hours of drawing practice. Here's to keeping up with it...

Just got around to building my profile. I'm an aspiring digital artist/writer. I want to work on stuff like concept art, character design, props and such for video games, movies or shows.

I develop characters around the stories I write, and then spend countless hours expanding on the characters and details. I'd consider myself at an intermediate skill level. I strongly value my style, and I'm stubborn to try new things (bad habits, I know).

Everybody seems to like my mechs more than anything. I love designing mechs, weapons and gear.

Currently enrolled in Art Camp until February, and trying to grasp true digital painting.

My name is Tudor Oboroceanu. I am 22 years old. I live in Canada and I love art. I draw/paint both traditionally and digitally.

I am looking to better myself in my art and try to find my style. Something I've been struggling with.

Hi, my name is Ranjith. I am from India. I am working in a company as a UI designer. I like traditional drawing. But, I recently started digital, too.
I hope this forums will useful to me.

I've drawn as a hobby since age five, but while I believe I have improved a bit over the years, I still feel I have a long way to go before I can qualify as actually good. Right now I tend to get mixed reactions to my artwork. Laypeople and DeviantArt posters tend to like it, but professionals who know their craft intimately tend to be more critical. Due to a fragile ego I have tended to avoid professional critiques, but all that attitude has done is slow down my artistic progress. In the interest of earning a larger and more loyal fanbase, I figured I should strive to evolve my skills.

Anyway, I'm especially fond of drawing prehistoric life, ancient historical cultures (especially African and most of all Egyptian and Nubian), and fantasy characters.
