Hey man, awesome sketchbook, lots of hard work in here. You should try a few studuies of proportions for the body as well as the head , like from the Loomis books for example.
Good luck and keep posting!

Thanks man! I've been reading loomis and also hogarth's books, they're pretty helpful!

Today I did some life drawings, first I did this selfie working with no opacity and just observing carefully and scribbling here and there!

Then I drew my brother using the same process.

This was really interesting to do, because I had to observe a lot before starting drawing, might do more soon!

Have a nice day!

Sorry for the absence guys, I've been studying some anatomy, taking my time with it. I might as well practice with foreshortening and figures in perspective, gotta keep pushing!

Great sketches and anatomy studies. Study more perspective and try to construct figures in perspective, it will help in the long run. Keep it up.

Good studies coming along here. I notice with your portrait studies that you are just copying the picture (I dont see much evidence of construction lines, except for on some noses, so I assume you struggle with them) while this is great to start this way, if you really get good at it all you are is a human photocopier. If you work on constructing things from the skull out then you will develop a skill set you can apply to a lot of different faces and even creating them from your own mind.

Nice skectbook though :) Keep up the good work!

Hey Jaik, thanks for your commentary man! The thing is that sometimes I either erase my construction lines or draw over them because they're very weak lines, I don't really like heavily constructing my portraits, I just measure carefully and observe, mainly to understand the proportions and I has helped me a lot!

Some updates!

Damn, it's been a while, hasn't it??

I finally finished studying at the institute, which was taking too much of my time (Monday-Friday / 8AM till like 6 PM with 4hours of total bus traveling). Although I haven't graduated because I have to take an English class before, anyways Meh

I immediately got back at studying and practicing after I finished, I've been studying daily non-stop, I think I have made some improvement. I'll put some stuff I've done since went absent.

Here we go!

These were done for an illustration class at the institute.

Anyways! I'll just keep practicing anatomy, materials, textures, rendering and pulling more figure drawings daily until I run out of free time. Since I still don't have a portfolio I'm going to start doing the bloodsport challenges since they're perfect for it.

Thanks for looking and see you soon!
