Jones Sketchbook
dump of some work and sketches, been taking it a little easier after my last contract ended a couple weeks ago. Had around 6 months of consistent work, often juggling several jobs. I wanted to see how far I could push my limits, at most it was 4 at once, and multiple images per contract. It was pretty stressful but I made it! It was a pretty big learning experience.

Nearing the end I was beginning to get worn out, I hadn't been taking any real breaks really, my schedule would consistently change trying to keep up. I feel like it's helped me grow immensely though, I love learning on the job, and having to try new things for what a job entails.

Anyway thought I would just share some thoughts and where I've been if anyone was curious :)

I was! Always wondered what happened to you. Damn Jones, how did it go? Is this one of those horror stories where people just stopped exercising and sleeping just to meet the deadlines? Did you have to stop with studies? Good to know you made it out to the other side!

It's debatable whether or not what you're trying to achieve is indeed impossible. One thing's for sure: it's impossible to defeat a person who doesn't know how to quit.

Definitely a learning experience,  I'd often start off well and with balance and slowly slip into the routine of waking up whenever and just working. Had I been more strict with sleeping times, exercising and such it would have been a lot better. Something to keep in mind when things get busy again, because it's unmanageable to work like that for too long a period.

Though when I was juggling multiple jobs, I'm not sure it's possible to have had much balance, even with a very strict schedule.

I stopped the majority of general fundamental studies and instead I'd do supplementary studies that directly related to what I was working on. Ideally I'd have gotten to do them every time but some deadlines I just had to go with what I knew. I find the supplemental studies a lot more helpful now anyway so if I had time for those I was happy.  I still read fundamental stuff though, picked up creative illustration and read through that (probably my favorite art book)

Thanks Man!
