  Hello everyone!
Posted by: Hyena - 10-21-2020, 02:15 AM - Forum: INTRODUCE YOURSELF - Replies (3)

Hello!

So I decided to join this forum after it being recommended by a friend!

I'm not an experienced artist at all - let's say I've ''properly'' drawn for like....3 weeks combined?! Started again like 3-4 days ago.

My approach is in detail and realism so you can tell I get some very ''funny'' results due to trying to draw like that with my lack of skill, haha.

But that's why I'm here! I'm looking to start showing my art more (even though you can't really call that yet) to get some criticism aka tips on what to improve on or try especially since I decided to get serious with drawing alongside Japanese.

Hope to gain lots of valuable artsy knowledge here and meet some nice people in the process here! :D

  Hey Everyone,

Hey Everyone,

My name is BadSugar. I see that this internet community is quite supportive in suggesting improvement on each other their concept art which makes it great place to further progress in concept art.

At this moment I am watching the playlist Hobbes Sakuga (作画) MADS on YouTube which contains a lot different artworks.
One of the best current concept artists or at least one of the better well-known I know of is Feng Zhu.

Other things I am interested in are athletics,
cats and dogs

after this message I will post another post in sketchbooks
a question about progress.

Hope I gave you a good introduction,
Kind regards,
BadSugar

  I MISS FORUMS, MAN!
Posted by: Shammah - 09-29-2020, 06:53 AM - Forum: INTRODUCE YOURSELF - Replies (9)

I missed forums, I used to lurk all the time back in the concept art days. Social media just buries everything under it's content juicing algorithms. Since this seems to be the last active art forum I'm gonna do my best to be active, and post "quality" material.

A little about myself: I like drawing, writing, reading. I got an egg head to matched my receding hairline, and I love art.

P.S. I'm Shammah, nice to meet y'all.

Hello, hello, I am choco, I seek to learn and meet other arts and learn together!, I would like help and a guide where to study
I joined the forum, because lately I have burned, studying in my quarantine, I feel that I do not focus well, since I do not achieve the objectives I wanted, I am a 21-year-old art student who has a dream of living from art. at least have a good level, although lately I've been getting stressed and anxiety for that reason.
Please also I would like to know how the forum works, or what has happened to it, I have seen good tutorials out there such as "enviroments rock" that even though it was done years ago, I have been practicing and reviewing it, it is quite good!

I have high hopes for this forum. I am going to post some paintings that I have done for my years of study, I feel that there are very few, and I would like to paint more, I focus a lot on drawing mainly practicing anatomy

Thanks hugs

Hii, my name's Mariana but some people call me Nozomi. I'm from Uruguay, South America, and I'm currently working at an indie videogame studio as an artist.

Some years ago, a mentor told me about ConceptArt.org. I was very curious about it but never posted anything because i felt i didn't have the level to do that and also didn't know exactly what type of artist i wanted to be.

This year i had the need for a community like that, and doing some research i arrived here.
I still don't know exactly what type of artist i want to be, but i know that has something to do with illustration (and perhaps concept art).

I consider myself as a very low quality artist and i want to change that. I'm obsessed with learning, and i think the best way to learn is from other artist.

So here I am :)

Hello everyone, my name is Shen. It's been a long time since I've last visited here. Due to complications, I'll be starting a new account.

A few months into the pandemic, I've started to settle down and prepare for my next move: finding a new job at the end of this year to middle of next year in the creative industry. That means slowly sorting my life out in terms of physical and mental well-being, integrity of character, and of course, skills to break into the art industry!

Something that changed since the pandemic started is that my old feedback loop, which was mostly in-person, is now gone, so I'll be reaching out to gather feedback online. This place being one of them.

Hope everyone has a good day!

hi⭐
I'm steve. Nice to meet you! I've been doodling since I was a kid, but only got serious about drawing a few years ago. I'm not great at art right now, but I'm working hard and improving. I'm excited to make a sketchbook, and get and give critique.

Hi everyone!

My name is Devin, but I pen my art under PixelSmut.

When I was younger, Highschool to early 20's, I wanted to be an artist, but ended up taking the path of a career Chef.
As much as I love art, the industry was extremely saturated compared, and I felt job security in Food.  I worked my ass off and reached the new heights as an Executive Chef.
But everything changed when the fire nation attacked.
So roll 2020. With job loss and not many secure prospects for a Chef these days, I'm taking it as a second lease on life and trying to bury myself back into the world of art that I love and carve some path that way.
Silver linings and all that.

I used to frequent Deviantart & had a Sketchbook I updated regularly on Conceptart.org, but have been far removed from the community and art in general for awhile now.

I've begun working on sketching and doing studies daily, and just this morning jumped back into digital art.

A few things about me I guess. I used to draw anime smut for commissions back in the day. (Hence name PixelSmut)
But after reading and studying Bridgman had started to make a painful turn around before I moved on to cooking.

As far as taste I have an affinity for Dark art, Fantasy, horror, and am particularly drawn to oil painting and water Color.
My inspirations and Favorites are Brom, Bisley, Azpiri, Manara, Royo, Shigenori Soejima, Yamamoto Takato, and Ignacio Noé.   ( I grew up heavily on Heavy Metal Magazine)

That aside I've got strong "color Blindness' Deutan. But really I just have a mutation in my eyes that effects my pupil dilation, which, in return, effects the amount of light my eyes absorb and washes out certain colors. Best example, when Im driving at night, headlights and streetlight take up about 60-80% of my field of vision. So you may notice my colors can be off a bit sometimes. I seem to have a lot of issues with skin tones, probably due to them washing together for me. Unfortunately color blind modes & glasses dont work for me, and there isn't any kind of correction for my problem.

Sorry for the length. I am excited to  be here!
