Hello everybody, I am an eastern European student (in an unrelated field), 21 years old. I discovered this forum when looking for art communities, but many that seem to have been big a long time ago, have disappeared.

I have been drawing for only a couple of years, did not have the urge to draw as a child, but have only started taking art seriously two months ago, when I realised I would like to be able to draw whatever comes to mind.

I am a bit unfocused in my goals right now, kind of want to do everything haha. For now, I am interested in illustration and possibly graphic novels. Not very skilled yet, though, and the economic situation in my part of the world kind of totally prevents me from purchasing courses or paying for instruction because westerners are really expensive haha, so it is a lonely journey.

hi, my name is jay, i'm 23, and i've been drawing for about 13 years. 
i discovered this forum a long time ago in a guide to pursuing an art education from home. i'd meant to join for a while, but here in quarantine, it looks like there's no better time. i could really use a community as i'm not currently in school, and i feel stuck in my artistic development, and art friends are always nice too.

Hello, my name is Gilles and I come from Belgium. I have been on/off drawing for two years but never took effort to study hard or seriously.

I was always interested in drawing when I was younger but I had a huge video game addiction that I pretty much stopped drawing during my whole puberty. I also really like watching movies so when I wasnt gaming I was watching movies.After a long struggle to  cure my addictive personality and mental problems I found my love for art again.

The main reason I want to join this forum is to post my practice stuff and see my own progress so I also one day can aspire people. Like Dave Rapoza and many others did to me. Another reason is that am so isolated because I quit school because of mental issues that I want to join a community that hold each other accountable to work hard and maybe find some friends.

My goal is to be a professional character/prop designer working on movies/games. It would be fun to share this journey with other people aswell

So uh,  Hi.  My name's Mikaela.

  I've been drawing and painting since I was young but didn't get serious till my early 20s.  By then I had changed course to psychology in college with a minor in painting. I graduated and realized I wasted my time in college because I didn't like the career choice (and to get a better job I'd need to shell out $100k for a Masters, PhD or more for MD, all for a job I wasn't sure I'd like).  I did a run around in several IT studies but none could give me the joy art always has. 

So now I'm doing art part time and hoping to finish the script for a webcomic/do commissions, and studying to get better at art, hoping one day to make a living, or at least half a living making art (despite my age of 28).  If I can't make a living I still want to get better at my craft.

I came here cause I remember CD when Conceptart.org was still around it was recommended to me more than once for the community.  I look forward to sharing my work with you all.  Thank you.

Hi! My name is Ethan and I've been drawing for about three months now. I've only been taking it "seriously" (as in actually drawing instead of watching/reading resources on it) for about two weeks now, though. I know it's a completely laughable amount of time compared to the many of you who have dedicated great swaths of your life to the craft, but it feels like a long time in the moment!

Anyways, I intend to start a sketchbook thread to document my journey, in the hopes that, should I become at least an acceptable level of technically competent, it can inspire others to overcome their fear of being bad as these other sketchbook threads have done for me! (although most of them begin at a level I'd consider daunting to achieve.) 

I look forward to becoming a part of this wonderful community!

Hi guys, my name is Bruno and I'm from Brazil, so english isnt my first language so some mistakes will happen hahaha

I draw at least 3 years but now I'm looking to get real consciencie about the things that I draw, not just reproduze, but undestand to aplying in future.

I'm glad I could find another art forum similar, you guys all seem really cool. It's a shame that instagram is taking up most of the art traffic from forums like these. I'm happy to have joined, I've always liked art communities like these, now I just need to find some COW challenges.

I only recently heard about this forum after desperately trying to find a beginner friendly Art Forum out there. Not gonna lie, it was kind of intimidating since the people seem to be incredibly talented but I also really want to give it a shot and really really want to learn all I can. 
 
I’m a super novice, and have only really learned gotten a somewhat stable grasp of anatomy and the basics of perspective. Despite that I astronomically want to be a professional artist in the industry. Working the cool jobs and so on and such. I could go on, but it’s crazy and I know it’s stupidly hard. I’m happy to be here though. So hi
