Bjork's Journey with her Sketchbook :)
Hello everyone! ^^
I have updated some old work with the help of the lovely critique I have gotten. My apologies for being so late with these updates. I really appreciate getting critique and am always willing to learn from it!

here is some sort of finished looking stuff

Really nice stuff. I think the one with the hand touching the girls mouth is kinda awkward. It looks like its cropped in too tight on a larger scene. Just the hand and the girl in the picture is hinting at some sort of narrative but its unclear what you're trying to convey. I would show some of what the characters surroundings look like. Like what you did with the knights background was really nice. Something like that maybe indicating what the light source is. Also I would cut the bottom and the right side off and show less of the mist and the dark area to her right.

Hullo! I'm back ^^

Thanks a lot, Adam! You make a very fair point. I probably haven't really thought enough about a story behind the picture. I have tried to make some improvements, been playing around with the composition, perhaps this looks better? Again thank you for the help! ^^

And thank you Fedodika!

Here is an update with some studies n stuff

Hey Bjork, love these master studies. I'd suggesting spending more time on a couple of them along with applying the images to your own works. You may be surprised how many of your favorite artists deconstruct a master painting just to put it back together a little bit differently. It's one of the best ways to learn.

Hello again everyone! It's been quite a while since my last update and a lot has happened since. I recently moved to Denmark to start my education at The Animation Workshop, where I'm studying computer graphic arts. I'm learning a bit of everything, and it's quite intense since we don't have that much time for each course.
It's tough but at the same time so much fun.
I'll see if I can keep this sketchbook more updated! :)

I'm working on this character at the moment, but I'm a bit unsure about whether I should add more or change something. Any thoughts?

well anatomy looks pretty good, maybe you could add some crazy effects with the fire, because the bottom half is very empty

Recently, I've begun doing studies that relate to some painting I might be working on. As many of you have mentioned, I need to actually use the studies I do on my own work, so that is what I shall do!

Hullo everyone!
just a little post to show what I'm up to!

Finished up the genie woman and made some anatomy studies. I have a bunch of sketches in my sketchbook, but I don't have any scanner atm. Maybe crappy Iphone photos will do haha.

I'm going to do a lot of studies of clothes and costumes, so if you guys know any cool stuff I should look up please share you knowledge <3

Don't be afraid to do the same studies over again, just to make sure to integrate the knowledge you've learned. Your sketchbook looks awesome, and you're making enormous progress. Keep doing what you're doing. Thumbs_up

I really like the witch painting, the angle is nice. Thing that is bothering me a little is the space the kettle and the steam takes, composition wise it is nearly half your painting, while I would want to see more focus on the witch. The steam is also very bright, which attracts more attention as well. Otherwise, I love it. Like the way you paint :).
