Joseph's shiny new sketchbook
I'd never heard of Rebelle but the pots and pans piece looks great (bonus points because I have an old pan that looks exactly like the one on top). The metal and light on that are spot on.

Just scrolled up to the armor and the lighting and form on that are very good — especially if it was done without a ref. I KNOW I'd have a lot of trouble doing that!

Thanks Jephyr! Sorry I guessed I missed your comment. The ref free, or vaguely reffed, I guess, looks good but I think we can do even better! I'm gonna keep working on my metal.

Been thinking about doing this one for a bit, the gold apple again, with a gold chain, and some other shiny items. I actually like how the texture worked with the metal in this one a lot. It created illusion of sharp detail without being too much. The chain is a little mushy looking though, but I only spent like an hour.

The stone look rather far in the deformation within the reflection specially if the object is rounded. It not the deformation itself that is in fault but the scale i feel the stone sit so close to the object yet seem so far in the reflection.

This very cool for the gold chain i am not really feeling the separation in the chain it feel more like a gold rope like object but i think this an issue of scale but also it doesn't help that there a gold object behind that. As one could say ''give it time'' such small detail generally only arrive around 2 to 3 hour of work depending on experience but this a small piece so it no so much that there alot of thing to deal with but reflective material is added difficulty and painting small is a problem in itself.

You are way more qualified than me when it come to properly achieve texture digital such as gold so i keep my comment to readability and reflection.

I think i am mostly echoing you because sometime it necessary.

Perfection is unmeasurable therefor it impossible to reach it.
