How's it going?

My (real) name is Elizabeth. I'm working as a graphic designer right now, but I've become more and more interested in concept/fantasy art. Sadly, my drawing skills aren't where I'd like them to be right now but I've been practicing diligently for a couple months now. Mostly with basic shapes and the human figure. Seen some improvements, but still have a lot more to learn!

Anyways, I've been looking for an active community of artists to relate to and share my progress with and I found you all.

So, yeah. LOL :)

I was directed here by an artist on deviant art who told me this is a great site to learn, improve, and meet other people who love art. Really looking forward to that! Still looking around here but hopefully I'll have stuff to share soon. :)

Hey Daggers, I made this account a while ago and even started a sketchbook before posting this thread, however I think it'd be nice to put myself "out there" a little, since I've been neglecting the social side of drawing for a while.

Well :) I'm 17, in college atm doing a Graphics Design course which I'll be on for 2 years (if I stay on) I'm very inspired by artists like Miles Johnston and Sam Carr, who're also from the UK and were quite young (well, younger than me) when they started seriously drawing. Sometimes I think I'm taking this maybe too seriously for my age (mainly because of other people's opinions) but then I'm reminded that there are people out there working harder! So I just study hard when I can and do my best to balance out college work, social life, etc.

So yep, not much so much an introduction as me rambling but I hope we can inspire each other, I've already learnt a lot from lurking here :)

I'm Josh, but I'll answer to Plastic Frog online as well.
I was working as a graphic Designer in Virginia for about four and a half years, but it really wasn't been going where I wanted it to. The computer animation degree I have has been used mainly as a hobby at home, but I want to do more. I love visual storytelling and have a strong desire to see my work improve, so I came here.

Most all my artwork can be seen on Deviant Art because I haven't created a decent website (ironic considering my profession). Now I'll admit, it's mostly furries. So help me, I like them even if I consider myself on the fringes of that fandom and nowhere near it's murky center. But you can also find some fan art, sculpting, props and environments.

But that's why I'm here. I don't think I really know where I stand as an artist yet. I can do anything I need to but I need help, or at least an assessment. I want to surround myself with friends who will both objectively critique my work, give suggestions on where they would like to see it go and sometimes sit back and say "ok, that is freaking COOL!"

In short I'm looking for friends and mentors and maybe even assistants for projects I've been trying to get done for a long time.

P.S. I'm also not very good with forums. Sometimes I forget to check them or I'm busy or I just plain don't feel like looking. Sorry about that. Really, Socially Awkward Penguin should be my mascot!
