Agreed... Aliens are just so good to watch. Great diversity, heh!

Thanks guys!! Sorry for the lack of actual commentary but I just wanted to update very quickly before heading to bed.
Update on the album cover (inks): Pencils: Markers, etc:

Really dig the post nuke santa and character forge. This marker stuff is pretty sick too. Looking forward to some more stuff :)

Really digging the extreme perspective on the album cover. Lines, and marker stuff is rockin.

Dude, those markers and pencils rock, try to save that initial energy on the finished pieces, it's very strong. I dig the gesture and small sketches as well, awesome work!

Jones: Thanks man! Markers are so much fun to get me going early in the day.
Michael: Thank you thank you! Ivan: Thanks! Nobody ever notices the small ones - not even me. In fact, what the hell are you talking about? ONLY BIG SKETCHES! :) Here's how that album art turned out. The lesson? I need to practice perspective, environments, industrial design, and a ton of other stuff a lot more.

Craaaazy perspective action going on here. Love it ;3 It was a while since i visited CD forumz and your sketchbook. And I can see some sweet improvement. Good. Goooood ;33

Ramalooke: Thanks dood! High five I guess, eh?
More alien stuff: And I'm a little late to the party on this one but I couldn't resist once I had some down time from work stuff - Lines for an LMS fan piece of Nikolai! I really like that character design - his weapon is crazy and he's basically a rock star - easy choice for me!

Had a few hours to doodle today - felt great! Experimented with how I approach early stage sketching a bit.

This. Turnaround. Was. Not. Fun. #f'ingfeathers

Awesome turn around Pierce, can't help but think of this when I hear 'turn around' - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V-sCrhRPCMg
Keep it up :3

I really love all the delicate lines! You have an amazing eye for nuance.

Some quality linework here ;3 You're improving fast. Me like <3 Me want more ;<

Doig - Thanks and lolz
Telse - Thank you! Ramalooke - Thanks dude! I hope so. Been a crazy month though and I've been suffering from insufficient available time for fun/improvement. Woah it's been over a month. I'll have to look around and see what I have to dump here, but for now I'll just leave this cropped WIP (almost done-ish) of my LMS fan art of Nikolai.

Finally finished my fanart piece of Nikolai from Danny Luvisi's Last Man Standing. Looking back, I wish I had planned out my values a bit more. Live and learn.
2x res on my blog: http://veneq.blogspot.com - just open up the image and you can grab it straight from there or open that in a new tab/window.

Manny - Hey I replied to your question on your sketchbook thread, but for the sake of consistency, I think it was just under 4 hours and I was studying pose, anatomy, skin tone, and working on drawing without line work. Thanks for stopping by!
Quickie head studies and then 3 fails from imagination at the bottom. And a quick pose study. |
