LOOK AT THAT! You've been afraid of rendering - but your tackling it and doing a great job! Keep pushin this frog guy man! I think he'd deinitely look good with some glossy wet looking eyes!
Ps - gonna be slurping on some iced coffee in your name.

ugh. not happy about it, but started my values pass today on the Atlean dood.
...lots of push and tug with what's in and out of light. problems choosing a consistent light direction. ;\ Resistance is home.

moving into my first color pass. starting to take too long with values.
-just bought a bunch more acrylic paint and board; get ready gang, shit's about to get traditional! O_o

i'm gunna be envious if you get good at traditional, haha.
Atlas guy is looking ok, your rendering and colors are looking a bit better but the ball doesn't look like its above him, more like behind. I get it if your just trying to focus on rendering, but his arms are pretty broken at the moment. keep posting :D

Is that robot smoking a cigar? if not he should be.

lol Jones...
...other small updates that are hardly noticeable on the Atlean and frog dood. some pen and ink. I want to get a good flow for traditional before the summer camp I work at each summer hits and don't have access to digital; trying out some cross-hatching and sucking at perspective. ...pen, so unforgiving! ;_;

Bruuu Def recommend more life studies. Maybe push the living fuvk out of one, sometimes pushing one really hard will help learbe a lot and speed up Future life studies

b&w still life, good idea. Don't forget about the center line, some of the objects in your still lives looks like they are falling over a bit.

thx bros. will definitely take it to heart.
Thinking about the critique from the other day and the resistance of "not being involved with working quite as much as I use to. I think I honestly get less excited about it . Along the way I gave into desiring a level of social recognition for my art/heart. I think that true intention comes from a place of stillness within the human spirit. ...that just "being"...at least for me, so while its easy to "want to be the best that no one ever was" I think the reason I started doing this was ever about that. It was about connecting to what I felt like mattered, connecting to core. I love elves, dwarves, and monsters, lightsabers and shit. -Don't get me wrong, but that's where the "art" is right now. I'm not sure that that's where I want to be too, though a story telling element is certainly a part of that. I guess what I'm saying overtly is that I want to give up what my expectations of art are suppose to be and learn to enjoy the process again. Connecting to what I'm doing instead of feeling a detached elatedness to it. I think I'll keep doing very similar things at least in appearance, but the approach mentally is what changes. I feel pretentious even re-reading this, but I feel nothing but love for influences and what came before and looking forward into pushing off from there! Resistance is the home we're all chasing after.

I feel ya man, I remember sketching as a little kid and just having fun imagining things. Now there's this technical aspect to everything that sort of seems to limit creativity at times. Studying for so long does get very tiresome, hopefully both of us can start enjoying the process a little more. Tell me if you have any success :D
